Press releases are often written by people who have never seen the show. I see no point in speculating on what's going to happen. Better to just wait and see. Btw, from what I have seen so far it looks like you took our complaints to heart and are giving us more of what we missed last season. Thank you!

Maybe they 'fake' Emily's death ? I still think she happens across something involving the case and she is being threatened. The only way they can protect her is send her away. But it would really throw the person who is after her off if they make it seem like she dies. (Train crash perhaps?) This could be the 'shocking death' and the 'great change'. The group would have to act like she is really gone in order to keep her safety. Maybe it will look to the viewers that she really did die, which would be a surprise when she returns down the road for an episode here and there. It's too much like the Anna storyline. Evilpete seems to be saying the press release talk of a death isn't as it suggests.

The shocking death comment was made in a CBC Media Centre blurb about S9. www.cbc.ca/mediacentre/murdoch-mysteries.html#.Vd8dRJei09w

Yes, but it may have been written by someone not directly associated with the programme......I think the death has already ocurred, as in Sgt Brooks.....

Yeah, I think the "great change to SH4" is just Julia back in the morgue. It would be funny if there was no death and someone had just been misinformed

I think a lot of us would be happy if the tie bit made it in! I wonder if we can thank Fallenbelle for all the tie play. I almost wish there was a place for meta-on-meta credit - Fallenbelle was in first with the Advanced Tie Play Analysis, lol. I love how happy Julia looks here. This is something that was a problem in Season 8 - there was a lack of spontaneity and stiffness that didn't belong *inside* a marriage. This had me invoking head canon that some sort of ongoing unhappiness was going on, possibly over the differences over when to adopt children.

This is what everyone seems to be forgetting. The death is supposed to 'bring great change to the world of Station No. 4'. Edna's death would hardly do that. Surely it has to be someone from the SH? Working backward: if the change is departure of Emily, what death would cause that? (We already know it isn't Lillian!)

It would be funny if there was no death and someone had just been misinformed Oops, something went wrong with Emily's toe-tag filing system. Someone had to take the fall for the administrative error, and thus Emily got the ax.

I agree on both points because there doesn't seem to be enough info to speculate with on point one, and there is just enough info being leaked to gratify on point two!
