I was really hoping they'd do a Making of for this episode........I enjoy these, being the production nerd that I am......I think Rebecca James is going to develop into a wonderful character, as there are so many directions they can take her.

I did not notice that Roland wasn't in this episode until it was pointed out to me! I'm glad he wasn't if I'm being honest. I'm really hoping that story line is coming to an end soon.
As others have mentioned this was a great episode and they are doing well with Rebecca!

As others have mentioned this was a great episode and they are doing well with Rebecca! The Brackenreid children are not included in every episode. It, therefore, would be unlikely that Roland, or any Murdoch children, would factor into every episode. I like the idea of the Murdochs as parents. Even in the early twentieth century, there must have been two-career couples. I am sure that child care arrangements were worked out in a practical way even at the turn of the century. I am glad that Murdoch's Catholicism was discussed in this program because at the turn of the century there was a prejudice in many Canadian (and American) cities against Catholics and the Irish. Murdoch's answer to Miss James' question was wise. I think Murdoch could never be accused of being the type to "Go Along to Get Along". He does not have that kind of nature. I think his own minority status over the years has given him the ability to show compassion to others and be more perceptive than those who never faced the obstacles of belonging to a minority. I think this episode focused on the important issue of the racial prejudice that existed in many parts of the world one hundred years ago. Hopefully, it will make people realize how far we've come in terms of promoting equality---- and how far we have yet to go. This was a well-written, well-acted and interesting episode. It proves that the writers and producers are willing to look at all aspects of the history of Toronto the Good. Incidentally, it provided dimension to the character of Rebecca James.
