Love this shot. You want advertising? We'll give you advertising!!! Is this in downtown Toronto? Wish it were also in Times Square. I do like how CBC is hooking into the Canadian Pride aspect both of MM and with their own role as public television in Canadian culture. If only PBS in the US could do the same. Unfortunately, the US doesn't really have a culture. At least not a laudable one, hahaha.

I think they're tapping into Snacky's time lord theory. That, or trying to be clever with the anachronism of the costumes juxtaposed with the iPhones.

But later I searched the pic on Google and it comes up several times with the picture of other stars/models on the building so obviously it's been doctored and no, it isn't Toronto. I'm going to just refer to it as Wishful Advertising! But I agree with you about CBC, they really, really do click into our Canadian Pride. I just can't imagine this country without it. To borrow from the catchphrase during the days of the Quebec Referendum ("My Canada includes Quebec"), well MY Canada includes CBC!!! (She said before sheepishly stepping down from her little soapbox, apologizing to anyone she may have bothered with her outburst.

Hee! I went to stay with a friend in Vancouver and nearly everyone kept apologizing to me for things beyond their control-including the power going out while I was in a mall. Sitting down on a bench until it came back on, I got to talking to other shoppers who apologized for inconveniencing me-they were other shoppers-not the electric company!

Panel and preview for S8. I skipped the 14 MINUTE preview cuz I don't want to be spoilered to that degree!
Anyway, they don't give much away in the panel discussion. Just allude to some things vaguely. So the usual.

I think they're tapping into Snacky's time lord theory.lol, that was my first reaction! I think it's paid product placement. But if it throws a few bucks toward MM for better historical sets and costumes, then tally ho!

I'm going to just refer to it as Wishful Advertising! Aw, what a let down! But I should have known - I'm familiar with the Emily iPhone pic, and it's posted in the Tumblr section. >.< If I had had time to check Tumblr lately, I probably would have found this with the appropriate credits. I went over to a friend's house a couple days ago and he was wearing a Canada t-shirt. He has nothing to do with MM and no idea of my interest in MM or Canada. But I thought it was interesting he had such a t-shirt and that he was wearing it around. I wonder if I was sending out little aerial vibes before I came over.

If I apologize can I become an honorary Canadian?

Yeah, if you study the pic, the pedestrians are just a bit too bundled up. I mean, I get Canada can be cold, but I don't think it's that cold in late August/early September.

If I apologize can I become an honorary Canadian? Certainly! but you will also have to learn/do at least 4 of the following: 1-when and how to use the word "Eh" properly in a sentence 2-wear a toque 3-wear a flannel, red and black plaid shirt (preferably along with aforementioned toque) 4-order a double-double 5-learn the little wave when someone lets you into their lane in heavy traffic 'cause your lane is blocked 6-remember to say "Sorry, was I in your way?" if someone bumps into you 7-learn the correct storage, handling and opening of a milk bag 8-have Canadian Tire money stashed someplace-a drawer, purse, glove compartment, etc. 9-and last but not least, as soon as winter starts to set in, ask the first 5 people you see if it's cold enough for them.
