I have never been compelled to join a group like this, but Murdoch Mysteries is my favorite show. I am American and find murdoch mysteries refreshing and fun.

Welcome from a fellow American! I don't tend to get like this with many shows myself, but the few I have gotten into weren't American. You're right-there's something refreshing and fun about the show!

Welcome to our American friends. You have excellent taste. Yes we do, but it's you Canadians who are bringing these stories to the screen. By the way, are any of you Orphan Black fans?

So, I just read this article: mentalfloss.com/article/58591/gibson-girls-kardashians-early-1900sAnd it got me thinking. I think it would be cool if some sort of Gibson Girls were somehow part of this season. One of those "Gibson Girls" was Evelyn Nesbit, a.k.a. "The Girl on the Red Velvet Swing." While this "crime of the century doesn't take place for a few more years, the event that started it all did occur in 1901, and I think a story like this would be really, really cool to see done as well. It's quite salacious and is really the epitome of Gilded Age excess. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evelyn_Nesbit -In case you don't know who Evelyn is.

It always amazes me where we can go with a little research.

Oh please don't tell me you're turning into an angsty William fan too! I can get behind keeping William on his toes, after all a girl has a right to keep things interesting, but not too much.

I still love happy endings! Plus, I like Julia keeping William on his toes.

The key is quickly resolved angst, an ep or 2 at most. The whole 'Shades of Gray' arc nearly killed me.

I'm not looking forward to rewatching the engagement/wedding arc-that draws out too long for me. At least it's not too long into season 5 before Julia's marriage starts showing signs of a breakdown. At least I had the chance of watching it knowing how it was going to end. If I had been watching it real time, I may have stopped watching.

We're kind of used to it now though. As Ruby calls it "the eternal courtship". I'll be fine if the writers keep it light like they did with S7 but if they start throwing in stupid roadblocks at this point I will be VERY unhappy. The only real threat I can see is they have Julia make another colossally bad, reactive, decision that she implements without any input from William. They've done it before (aka Buffalo) and they can do it again. Bad choice writers. Bad choice.
