It seems Miss (Mrs.?) Hamilton exists in Ajax as well. We had a big kerfuffle this winter about a skating rink in someone's front yard. It even made the news and The Toronto Star. The parents just wanted to have a rink for the kids to play on, but apparently some neighbour complained and it turns out the boards used to hold the ice in qualify as a "structure", which is against the bylaws. The Station House 4 gentlemen should have come along for a game of shinny. Oh my, so much for the kid's lemonade stands in the summer. Time for your city council to put some bylaws to rest... Lemonade stands are not considered "permanent" because they are usually up for only a day or two. Still, yes they are going to debate this bylaw this summer. I wonder if Miss Hamilton will show her face then?

Totally agree with you Fallenbelle. Giving fans nothing is a surefire way to lose them. You give fans just enough to keep them coming back looking for more. This season W/J shippers have had nothing to come back for since the honeymoon, they've given up hope. It wouldn't surprise me if some don't come back next season. There's no W/J bait on the hook right now, but two more eps to go! I'm hopeful! I've almost lost hope. I'll be back for S9, let's hope they get some of the balance back.

What is "TAD"? It is a little alarming that YB said that about his role. Could he be thinking of moving on? Scary! Maybe that is why this season is so flat: he is a producer, after all, so he has some say in how things are done. Yikes! Thanks, eus. TAD is The Artful Detective which is the title the Ovation Network broadcasts MM under. Don't ask. EVERYONE is befuddled by this weird piece nonsense. Just to clarify, my comments re: yb and his comments on the role of WM. It seems to me he is frustrated by the over cautious nature of the writing. He would be a fool to abandon MM at the height of its popularity. It has given him world wide recognition and made him a wealthy man. I do believe he is chafing under the constraints of the writing. When I mentioned domestic scenes, I meant just little snippets of W&J together, alone, at home, in situations where they might discuss a case. Never would I want to see a "domestic" episode with the two of them a la Father Knows Best. Yuk! Ick! Julia has a sense of humor, and so does William, although he hides it well, I just want to see them being happy together sometimes. Just a short scene. Never fear Snacky, I agree that MM is first and foremost a police procedural and should remain so. Nevertheless, most fans of MM care about the characters and their lives. Were this not the case there would not be nearly as much discussion about the wedding, the aunts, or any other personal aspects of the characters. You're welcome. I know about The Artful Detective, I just thought that it was an interview show. We have had lengthy discussions on this board and elsewhere about that name change. After giving it some thought, I think you must be right. What is suffering this season is the writing. I have been watching my Season 6 DVD, and the writing is tight. There are a lot of little nuances that you catch with every reviewing. Now to be honest , I have not re-watched any ep this season more than once, except HMM and What Lies Buried, so I may be missing some subtleties, but it seems that the consensus on this board, by fans who are much more diligent than I am, is that the powers that be, especially the writers, have missed many golden opportunities to enrich the WJ arc, without sacrificing plot, and perhaps even enhancing it. Even if their intention is to create tension between these two, they could have set that up in one or two of their "just the two of them" scenes. You are also right about YB: he would be crazy to think of jumping ship before the show runs its course. I hope his comments are a veiled criticism of the writing this season.

It was really weird how George just walked into their domestic scene, though! Well, he was William's Best Man at their wedding so he probably feels like he's one of the family now

When Murdoch Mysteries was in Cambridge to shoot the wedding last summer, apparently Miss Hamilton was a stow-away and stayed in town. She's alive and well and is now a city councilor. There's a big 'thing" going on in the old city core with regards to "busking". A young lady was ticketed for singing outside a store in downtown Galt/Cambridge so there's a push on now at City Hall to cover it under a by-law. But one councilor (who I suspect is the reincarnated Miss Hamilton), stated (and I quote from the local newspaper): “Busking is a very good thing to have, but there could be some negatives,” she said.
***** is concerned some people might use busking as a cover for aggressive soliciting. “The prostitutes that are downtown could start singing,” she said."Seriously, if you ever saw the downtown core (other than the lovely spots they manage to film in MM) you'd know that singing dollymops would be an improvement!!!! Julia please comeback! someone in town needs to be clothes-lined again!! We have a word for that in the US: "Concern Troll". Hmmm, that's a surprisingly polite term and totally sums it up!!

And by the way, when did I become a GOD? !!!! Cool Oh my, 10 posts ago it seems! We seem to have a whole class graduating together! CONGRATULATIONS ASCENDING DEITY!What temple shall you take charge of? LOL!!! Thank you Temple? We get a temple? I think the "Jilliam Temple of Earthly Delights" would work for me to start off, since I'm fairly busy these days and that particular temple seems to be closed for the time being---so I can be a part time manager!!!

So long as Julia and the others are in it, I'm really happy to hear about this. It's obviously Meyers related. I'd missed the web series, and it gives us something to watch while waiting for S9. I assume it'll be connected to whatever the cliffhanger in the finale is and whoever was watching George.

I'm wondering how and where the new web series will fit into the timeline of the show, the S8 finale makes it difficult for it to fit after 8x18. They can't really just ignore the George stuff, so I'm not sure how William (and hopefully Julia & co) can be involved in a world threatening case.
