We're never going to agree on this one. I'm not ever going to believe George should be a detective, and I'll always prefer him in uniform because I honestly think that is what suits him best. My dad was a PC and it isn't a job that means you aren't intelligent or that you aren't a worthwhile police officer. George is a good police officer, one of the better ones we've seen, but that doesn't always equate to being a detective. As I said, we will have to agree to disagree. By the way, I did not imply that PCs are less intelligent, or less important than others. As far as I am concerned the discussion was about the character, George Crabtree. I agree that a person's rank or job title has much to do with their intrinsic worth, and I could cite example after example that illustrates that.

It's no wonder that Americans are confused. A) The Artful Detective is just wrong as a title so nothing to draw them in for a look-see. B) The shredding of story arcs to make more time for commercials...not sure if Shaftsbury is aware of this or Christina Jennings was purposefully not bashing their one American network over the head. C) They're trying to reconcile a "modern" perception of Canada with fairly accurate portrayal of the Colonial Canada of 115+ years ago. All but the last question were idiotic IMO.

I think they're flogging a dead horse trying to popularize this show in the US. Americans usually think Canada is just a colder reflection of themselves and how many Americans know their own history never mind Canadian? Plus, they don't know Canada now never mind Victorian/Edwardian Canada. I have to say though that if they'd just watch the show without trying to slot it into a genre maybe they'd stand a chance of understanding it.

Aussie Murdoch lovers. Check the foxtell guide, the book plus website. 13th street MM has been taken off on tuesday 7-30 and replaced with law and order. The website says Tues 19th episode 1 season 9. No indication as to when the new espiodes are going to be shown. Yes, they show mm during the day but I find this rather confusing and frustrating. When are the new episodes shown now on 13th street. I put a post on the facebook 13th street page twice...no reply as yet...can anyone work out when Aussie fans get to see the rest of the new series...thanks if anyone can help... Cheers.

One of the things I love most about this forum and the characters that participate! Agreed! Sorry I have not added an emoji. I have trouble translating them. If I had added an emoji it would have meant: Absolutely! This is a great bunch of people and it's nice to have a place to express our opinions and not get hammered by those who hold a different view. Back and forth civil conversation is the key. Wouldn't it be great if our political system worked that way? Can't wait for tonight's episode. What in the world is this earth shattering change? I'm afraid.

(And yes, I spoiled myself on that part with this second half of the season that I'm missing. Nothing else so far, though.) Wow, you're quick getting this up! I'm loving the extra depth and character insight this clip brings. No surprises really but enjoyable to hear it directly from them. Yannick, Helene and Peter all seem quite pleased with turn of events for the opportunities to show character development and domestic bliss. Helene especially seems happy to bring an extra sense of joy to her character. Julia has always shown a great deal of compassion but not so much tenderness. I think this is adding a whole level of complexity to her that we haven't seen before. It's wonderful to see Yannick step up his considerable acting skills. We know he is a wonderful, experienced father so watching him play an adorkable dad just melts my heart. Everyone is quite pleased with the casting of this little one, how could they not, but it must really help that he's hitting his marks like a pro! It still seems a bit forced to me but it may be that I am so comfortable with babies that it makes me uncomfortable to watch people (the characters) who are not. I want this to work for them because I so want William to have his heart's desires, first Julia, and now a son. Lady Minerva was correct with her prediction that there would be a great price for Julia so now I'm waiting for the next heartbreaking hurdle. Peter was just a little bit too happy... That man plays us like a violin.

That man plays us like a violin. I believe Lady Minerva's prediction was that William would have to make a great sacrifice, which he has. He gave up the dream of having a family, or at least a biological family. However his dream has come true, not sure he's so thrilled with the way it happened though!
