I hope Gemily won't be back. There's no chemistry there though it does solve the problem of a love interest for of them without introducing another character. Same. I've never been into George & Emily. I actually quite like George with Edna and wouldn't mind that happening. Edna can just be a recurring character once in awhile like Mrs. Brackenreid. Buuuut I think with the recent events that's not gonna happen. Geo and Emily would be a mirror of sorts to William and Julia. Geo seems to be a man of his time, meaning that he would be very traditional about supporting his wife. He seemed to feel that Emily was quite out of his league even though he was encouraged to pursue her. So far I don't recall seeing any of the Constables with a wife, but that could just be the way the show is put together.

A wild William "Mark Twain" Shatner has been spotted! And to think that Shatner is in his 80s!

Jackson is married, only mentioned once though.

Soooo..... is it just me, or does anyone else think the show's "going there" with Rebecca and George. I must admit, I'm intrigued with the possibility-I'd have to see more to be sold, but I am intrigued. An interracial relationship is certainly another way of pushing the boundaries during this era.

I hope the show isn't going there, because George yet again has no chemistry with a woman who works in the morgue. They should try Rebecca and Higgins if they want an interracial relationship, she might have chemistry with him. I am however all for a George and Rebecca friendship, he works well as a friend to the women on the show. It's just he doesn't have any sexual chemistry with them for some reason.
George either needs to be reunited with Edna (who was a really good match for him tbh), or a new lady love.

That said, I would like to see more development of Rebecca's character.

She was the only love interest that worked for him as far as I'm concerned. She wasn't too out there and kept him grounded, he was a man with her not an overgrown child.

I'm not opposed to a reunion with Edna, and I agree she was good for George, but I cannot see Rebecca with Higgins unless they do some major character growth/change on his part. Rebecca is too studious and reserved for Henry, the only reason he was interested in Emily because he wanted to prove he too could get with a doctor as William and George had. I just don't believe there was any interest with her, or with Rebecca either than the challenge of "getting" them. Once Henry has his "girl", he strikes me as someone who loses interest fast.

George is no more mature than Higgins, so if it wouldn't work with him, then Rebecca also wouldn't work with George. We have no idea what Higgins is like with a girlfriend because it's a running arc he can't actually really get one. I'd like to see him get a real love interest at some point. As for George, like Hodge said, not every one has to be matched up. I'm fine with George, Higgins, and Rebecca not getting a full-time love interest on the show. MM can give them someone background or give them a romance before they leave or the show ends. Of course Rebecca may not even want a relationship, perhaps she'll turn out to be a woman who's happy to be single. That would be fine as well. But we do know George and Higgins would both like a longterm relationship, so it would be nice if they ended MM with that. With Edna, it would feel like things had come full circle for George. She was his first love interest on the show and he almost married her. Up to now she feels the most suitable match for George. But we don't know which new woman may come along for him. I'd just like all the characters to be happy and well suited like W/J and Thomas/Mrs Brackenreid are. It would also be nice if we heard Emily had found a new love and was happy in her new life.

Only two episodes in and I'm enjoying the new series. I have been avoiding any spoilers because this is one show I don't want to be spoiled for. Hopefully Julia ends up back in the morgue. I hope I don't seem ignorant. I am around but I'm not reading any posts. Usually I'm desperate for spoilers!!

Seasons 4 and 5 were broadcast in full in the UK before they were aired here in Canada and I nearly lost my mind!!! I hope you add to the episode discussions as they air in the UK.
