Watched this last night.
At first I was not impressed. I thought that the answer would be too easy, and in a way I was right. But at the same time, this episode isn't REALLY about the CRIME itself. It's about the stories surrounding the other characters. And I really liked that. Especially the fireman and his two little siblings and how he was trying to keep them together.
BTW who was the actor who played the fireman? I couldn't catch it in the credits.

Life has been crazy, so I'm late posting, and even this is rushed, but I quite enjoyed this! I'm very thankful that we received two consecutive annual Christmas episodes, but I think that I enjoyed this one a bit more than last years... I also caught the culprit quite early, but the mystery was in seeing how everything would come together. I loved the mini-mystery between William and Julia and the super nerdy vacation to the Galapagos. I must admit that when I saw the beagle, my first thought was Darwin as opposed to a dog, but I didn't catch the others at all. The only thing I could think of was that the ring was the same colors as the flag of Romania. The take on the "Snow Queen" and the children was well done as well-I had been afraid that they were going to pull her off into a separate story line and I'm glad that that didn't happen.
It was totally adorable watching William geek out at the "Inspector Gadget" like items, and my favorite may have been his turn as a returns clerk at Eaton's...he is NOT having any of your shit! #nofilterWilliam

WHERE IS EVERYONE!!! I get here several days late to the party just to find three people showed up and all the food's already been eaten!
Anyway - finally got around to watching it tonight! And oh man it was worth the wait. I gotta say I do love this show's Christmas episodes.
Probably my favourite scene was Murdoch behind the customer service desk at Eatons. He wasn't taking crap from anyone! I wondered why the Customer service guy was getting flustered with him - because Murdoch was actually saving Eaton's money. But it all made sense in the end of why he was so lax with returning rules. I gotta say Rebecca's facial expressions when she heard the "Copper Boyz Choir" was priceless! I do like to think that she did get some pleasure from making middle-aged white men meow like cats! Mrs. Brax was fabulous as always - always a pleasure to see her again! (I particularly love her trying to sneak a peak at the present(s) Tom bought her. Uh OH MY GOSH THAT GALAPAGOS HOLIDAY MY TWO PRECIOUS NERDS WILL BE SO AT HOME BEING ALL SCIENCEY AND NERDY AHHH! I'm also so glad that Jules and Wills get to go on an adventure! It isn't just Brackenreid who is globetrotting this year! I gotta say that George looked so excited that Murdoch used a "Jumping Jack" gadget - I though it was very temporal continumy as Murdoch used the spring shoes that "Jumping Jack" uses and "Jumping Jack" is loosly based off of Murdoch! (I also loved the mocking of Superman/Supergirl and the whole superhero concept.

I'd been very busy all week so I only got a chance to watch it last night. I really enjoyed it and it was a nice way to fill the time in between the two halves of S9. William and Julia were suitably passionate and adorable, they are still the lovable nerds they always were. I love how they get so excited about scientific things and I had to laugh at Julia thinking William had gotten her the Galapagos islands.
George, Higgins, Jackson, and Rebecca all bought laughs and cuteness. Though Higgins flirting with Mrs Brackenreid was a bit risky. Having Brackenreid in the middle of a case was nice to see again, and was too bad the special isn't a real part of S10. The special was a pleasant christmas treat for the fans.

I really liked this Christmas special, more than last year’s. I enjoyed it more even though there were no single scenes better than my three favorites from last year “Unwrap me William”, Julia’s “Christmas punch” and the “throwing snowballs at William” kiss. In this one, Julia “loosening William’s tongue” was a fun line and Murdoch as the Returns Clerk at Eaton’s was great. I wish Rebecca had taught the choir some four part harmony, but other than that, I have no complaints. I’m glad the writers packed in so many important elements of a classic Christmas special. Unlike some of season 10, this special did not disappoint.
