I'm not a particular fan of them having the basically unconnected subplot about the missing women. It's not working for me because it involves two characters who aren't the main characters or even secondary ones. Watts is a guest star and Jackson is an occasionally recurring character. If they at least have George or Higgins as the assistant to Watts then it would make the story feel less disjointed with everything else, and it wouldn't just feel like a time-filler.
I liked how compassionate Rebecca was about the dead boy, but I find it unbelievable that Julia and/or William wouldn't have also gone to the funeral. It's nice to see George have chemistry with Miss Cherry, and she fits better in the storylines than Nina did.
I don't have much more to say about the episode, it was a decent enough mystery, though tbh I'd already guessed the ending before it happened, and it reminded me of some past episodes. It wasn't one the best episodes this season, but it was fine.

I liked this episode. I feel that the last few episodes have been a big improvement on the earlier ones. I like Watts and if he ends up permanently on the show, he will be a good replacement for Brackenreid. I find him to be pretty funny, obnoxious and condescending. He's more interesting to me than Brackenreid who is not a good cop.

So I'm a bit late posting to this. (DARN YOU FINALS) But I'm tired, so I'm going to keep this breif.
Was that actual backstory on Jackson and Watts?? Are my ears deceiving me?? AHHH I'm so far behind updating the Timeline now it's not funny!
I knew something was fishy with the one guy because he kept on insisting that the other guy was a fraud and being really rigid about it - it turns out he was but still kept me sort of guessing what happened! I loved it when Murdoch left them in the cells and said something along the lines of "I expect you two have much to talk about"
With Rebecca James finding out who the boy in the woods was - It reminded me of William buying a headstone for a victim wayyy back in season 1's Body Double.
I was glad to see Crabtree getting along with Miss Cherry - and they avoided all awkwardness on that front.
Overall I rather enjoyed this episode -

A great episode from Rebecca's persistence in knowing who the boy in the grave was to the two of them (William) tying the two cases together. Nicely done. I sorta guessed the older brother but was unsure who'd be the "missing child."
I also enjoyed the backstory on Jackson and Watts. These two work well together and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them as they try solve the missing women case.
