Yes and we're getting someone else in the morgue again. I hope Julia's not going to be reduced to the same one line again! I just don't see why they feel the need to keep introducing new people when they realized they've got too many in the first place. Can some of them be murder victims? PLEASE?

Well this was another good episode, three in a row, hope this continues. It reminded me of some of the older episodes where it was all about the mystery with no B plot. Liked W grabbing the roll before the lights went off and his comment about having completely disappeared. So it looks like the detective was hired because of the Murdoch's, very annoying guy, obviously envious of the real detective. I wonder if we'll see him again. What was that comment from W about his wife may be many things...? Good to see AGB again and Helen Keller was great. The actress was wonderful and I wondered if she is deaf as she was so adept at ASL and it seems she is. I then wondered about the actress that played Mrs. Bell as it seems they were looking for blind/deaf actors. It wasn't obvious from the start whodunit but I wasn't surprised it was Ruth Newsome's fiance, what an obnoxious guy and obviously wasn't marrying her for love. Now Henry! I figured his interest was leading somewhere but not quite there! And once again we get a suggestion of a normal marriage. I do have to say once again ... what WAS Julia wearing again!? I loved the white blouse she was wearing in the morgue though.

This was a great episode-so very well done! There were so many awesome little moments this episode that I don't have time to go into them right now, but can I just gush about that moment at the end? A blindfold! I loved it! So very William and Julia to perform that kind of experiment...our dear little nerds. Although I'm disappointed that she purchased a blindfold when they could have just utilized a tie!

Well done MM team!! I agree that this season is starting off with a bang.
Couldn't help remembering an episode of CSI that featured a murder in a restaurant where diners eat in complete darkness. It's been a long time, so I have no idea what season it was. As in this show, the experience was meant to heighten the other senses. Even the waiters were blind. As wonderful as it sounds in theory, I don't think I will ever try it! Too many sharp instruments around!
Boy was Colin Mochrie irritating as Detective Fellows. I am sure that was the intent. I wonder if he will be a regular.
Like many, I love seeing John Tench again as AGB. I googled Helen Keller, and they did in fact meet much earlier in her life. He helped to teach her! I also found out that Helen Keller was engaged to be married in 1916 , but never went through with it. I wonder if she addresses this in her books. I found it heartbreaking that, on the show, she was actively discouraged from pursuing romance. I am sure this was true to the times.

He was an absolute ass hole but Colin Mochrie played the part so well. I'd love to see him again. Would also like to see both AGB and Helen Keller again, Amanda Richer was outstanding.

This episode felt like classic Murdoch Mysteries. Having the original 5 characters working on the case was brilliant and really reminded why I love this show. W/J had some cute/romantic moments and Higgins was a sweetie. I wonder how long him and Ruth will last. They're a funny pairing and Ruth is an entertaining character each time she guest stars. It was nice to see AGB again.
I felt so sorry for Helen Keller, her scene in the interview room was very sad.

This episode proved they don't need a 2nd person in the morgue or any other characters in the station. I wish they'd stop adding recurring characters at the expense of the original ones. Getting rid of Jackson and Rebecca just to replace them with more Watts and a new woman in the morgue is just repeating the same thing with newer faces. Julia doesn't deserve to get less scenes so a new (unnecessary) woman in the morgue can get material that should be hers. I hope the new character isn't sticking around for long and she's just here for a short term story.

Watched this ep. tonight. Had a very busy day so watching it tonight was a nice unwind! The hotel detective was annoying - but TBH kind of funny that the hotel had to create a whole new job because of the Murdochs! (How many people have been killed in your bed now?) My mother was convinced for most of the episode that he did it - and admittedly so was I for a bit there! Certainly many twists and turns in this one! Even though he annoyed me I hope he shows up again at some point. Murdoch's sarcastic remark at the beginning of the episode was I think perhaps my favourite line this season! I love how they aren't even surprised anymore when someone gets murdered at an event that they're at. I bet they are more surprised when it doesn't happen! Bell and Murdoch going all DetectiveGadget! with the recording was quite fun to watch. Also loved the special effects again with that scene in Murdoch's Mind Palace where he figures out the murderer - and when Bell and Murdoch are figuring out the morse coded message to Helen Keller. Thought it was interesting how it was Henry who sort of broke the case on this one. AND OH MY THAT DRAMATIC KISS!

I was kind of down on the show after the episode that ended last season and the one that started this season. Both were kind of poorly written and had dramatic changes in how our favorite characters would act that didn't fit. I mean, in the 10th episode, Graham is uber powerful and has an army of corrupt cops and has spies everywhere...while Murdoch comes off as really dumb and foolish. In the second past, it's basically a two-man operation of Graham and City Council guy doing everything with no henchmen in sight. Didn't make sense.
However, the wine episode and this latest one are winning me back. We got back to some clever mysteries and humorous events (loved drunk Murdoch) so I'm getting my faith restored.
I do agree the hotel detective was annoying and I didn't even recognize it was Colin McRae until afterward. I thought the girl playing Helen was excellent too.
Personally, I don't mind another morgue assistant. Julia's still there doing her thing and I thought Rebecca was nicely done (though I liked Emily a bit more). I don't think it takes away from the show much at all.

I really could not enjoy this episode. I think it was the characters.
Between Higgins, Fellowes, and that airhead sister of Roger Newsome, I just couldn't find anything funny or interesting. Everything just seemed so forced and bland...
