I'm thinking she may have been kidding. I like to think I would have remembered something like that, and I watched it just now, skipping for William in a cage scenes, and couldn't find it. I also read transcripts on two different sites and nothing about that line either. That, or it's been cut. lol - I tried checking the transcripts, too. I remember it really clearly, though. If it is a case of punking, I reverse engineered the memory really well. This is really bugging me. But it's 3am, and I'd better crash. I'm sure CC can clear it up.

He did say it! Those gifs are actual lines from that episode! William is pretty unselfconscious when he's trying to recount what happened, lol. On seeing it again, the effect is the same as this:

At some level, you have to wonder if it's intentional...

Anyway, I think Emily's looks at Henry are just as forced as they were with George. As far as Leslie goes: Emily's default assumption is that she SHOULD be with a man. I think the fact she chose Leslie shows she has a penchant for the new and exciting: it's a sign that men in general might be too boring for her!

I'm hoping when Emily was scoping out William and imagining his nightly "romantic prowess", she was thinking... naw, that's so 19th century. What episode is the pic from? I don't remember this or the sailor one... As for Emily, I don't think she was dissing William at all-methinks you're projecting. I believe this pic is from Me, Myself and Murdoch. He's commenting on Charlotte. I don't remember anything about sailors either....

Just curious-when does he say it in the Murdoch Trap? I'd like to watch that scene for context, but I won't sit through the entire ep again. Once was enough. Aw it's not that bad! Really, you have to watch it as a Surrealist episode to appreciate it. Btw, in the first scene where William is tearing the mask off the "hanging" Julia/skeleton, after William hits it, the skeleton seems to say "I F'd you, William". So there would have been a tidbit for the non-Virgin theory: William feels he is reaping the consequences of sleeping with Julia. Just watched The Murdoch Trap for that scene and couldn't find it, but it might not be in the version I'm watching. I could swear I've seen it before it before, and it was William stalling Gillies, retelling a story from another episode. I don't think you should avoid rewatching just because of Gillies - a lot of good stuff is in that episode! *Can't find it in another version, either. But also can't find a scene where William looks like that gif. No one calls Bloupine on punking them in the 25 notes. Could that scene have been cut? Maybe CC can shed light on this since CC commented/reblogged. I could swear I actually saw this in the episode, though. I'm LMAO at you Snacky! You seriously thought that was part of the actual episode?! It's from the blooper reel!

Okay-that's what I thought when I first saw that, but then Snacky said it was legit, and then I was seriously wondering how I missed it. There's a season 6 blooper reel? I've seen 7, but not 6... **goes off to find season 6 bloopers**

I think there's bloopers for all seasons but we'll probably never get to see any of them, except for this bit from S5.

Was William ever in jail, knocked out, and had to explain how he got there?

I'm LMAO at you Snacky! You seriously thought that was part of the actual episode?! It's from the blooper reel! Ooooooooooh! That's where it's from! I knew I actually saw it video, but I couldn't remember where. I'm not a fan of blooper reels, and I only watched it once a long time ago, so all I had was a vague memory that I had seen that actual "scene" before. I guess I should take that off the "edgy" post then - lol. Dang that Bloupine for tagging it THE MURDOCH TRAP, though.

Plus, that'll be a five point deduction from your MM fan card.

I'm just relieved that the memory of it happening in video wasn't actually false. Also, I enjoyed watching that episode again. Once you take Gillies for the Over-the-Top Bond Villain he is, and the set itself as something like a Bunuel film, then it all gets more entertaining from there. Even Julia's imprisonment can be seen as a test of faith - not just a physical/procedural story. Her big problem all along was that she distrusted William...

Another ep a day! Lol I enjoyed the discussion in this thread. You guys crack me up. 1. I can decide if it was unfortunate or not for William ran into Susannah. He'd probably already dealt with not being able to see her again and that just opened that back up on a whole new level. 2. Julia seemed to really care about what William went through with his sister. He certainly showed his lack of being able to deal with things when he avoided her question of it being hard on him. If he would just talk about his feelings sometimes things could be so much easier! 3. When mentioning that Catholics don't eat meat on Friday's I thought to myself it would be fun to try and test William on this. Then I remembered that the guy never eats, lol. 4. This episode is quite good all around. We get a glimpse into William's life and not to mention I do quite enjoy the mystery in this one. 5. Everything just gets dangled in front of William this season. He's around Julia all the time, Anna is back shortly and gone again, and then the reconciliation with Susannah only for her to be gone. He really couldn't get a break.

I don't think I'd say parents-Julia's more like an older sister, mentor and BFF, while I'd wager that she doesn't really know William at all. I think she was trying to reconcile the William she knows (all business) with the hot lover. She's never considered him to be a great lover, yet her BFF has a happy sex glow going and it's thrown her for a loop. Her worldview has been challenged. Since we are talking about imagination: 1) Who gets in bed first and waits for the other one? 2) How does Julia keep her hair in all those fashionable coifs - I know she doesn't want to go to bed with a head full of curlers with William still ready for romance every night! 3) Does William read out loud to Julia (in bed) from Scientific American or Popular Mechanics? 4) If William got so querulous over the possibility of cold soup, can you imagine how he might get over crumbs in the bed or losing a corner of the blanket? Or dust? Hmm. What's Julia's strategy here? 5) Will William remember to keep up the grand gestures now that they are married? Will Julia? I imagine William might like a bouquet every now and again. These are fun, lol. I want to play. 1. Before being married I would peg William as the type to have a night routine and go to bed at the same time. Pajamas at 9:45, in bed by 10, and swiftly asleep at 10:15. Or something along those lines. Now I'm not so sure, but I suppose I'll go with them going to bed together. 2. I've always assumed her hair is naturally curly 3. I will leave you this from CC's tumblr: 4. William totally makes his bed right after getting up. I absolutely cannot imagine it any other way. However, I wouldn't exactly tie it to the soup incident. NO ONE likes cold soup or crumbs in bed. (and if you do I'm not sure I should trust you.) 5. Well, I'll just let season 8 answer that for you.

If William weren't looking satisfied and well-fed all during Season 8, I'd wonder if William's stress response was anorexia. It's under-studied in men: www.gq.com/story/male-anorexia-gq-september-2012
