I was in town this morning and popped into a cafe for a coffee and toast. People were talking about what they watched on tv last night, someone said there wasn't much on tv on a Tuesday night. I said, "If you've got Sky you should watch Murdoch Mysteries at 9pm on Alibi." Well.........two ladies who hadn't then said a word, piped up: "Oooh yes, it's marvelous, we watch that." The others then said they'd be watching tonight. Whey Hey!!
New converts.

Omg i really hope Anna not become a love interest for William..we have already Darcy that ruin W&J fans dreams! That wouldn't necessary be a bad thing, though I doubt it, since somebody on twitter mentioned she'd be in only 2 episodes. Actually I don't want William and Julia to get married anytime soon. In my experience that kills a show within another season. What could happen though and could solve one of Julia's problems - err, this may seem a bit cruel though: Julia marries Darcy at the end of this season. William later turns to Anna (or any other woman), they marry, she gets pregnant but dies in childbed. Julia and Darcy may get divorced (we can't kill the guy too, can we?) and Julia helps William with the child. All problems solved. William has his child and Julia can be the mother. Though seriously. With the difference in heritage and Williams catholic background, would there have been a real chance for them if they actually lived in 1890?

Well by now it's 1898 But yes, there were couples where one spouse was Catholic and one Protestant. It wasn't common and it wouldn't have been easy but look at all they've overcome individually already. It would have been harder for Julia to divorce a man than marry a Catholic. A woman could not initiate a divorce unless she had evidence the husband had cheated on her. I don't think William and Julia will marry quite yet but I don't think it would kill the show once they did. There's lots to work with if they did things right. I hope they don't make us wait until the last episode for them to marry. For one thing, they aren't teenagers. If they don't marry pretty soon, kids wouldn't be much of a possibility anymore. They're in their late 30's now.

I have watched William and Julia through 3 tv movies and 4 series now. It's time they finally got together properly lol. I don't mind if they don't marry till next series, but it's time to get rid of the love interests. We have had too many already.
This whole series is pointing towards them still being completely in love, so surely they have to end it together. BTW, which episodes is Anna in? I will no doubt be cursing her existence like I do everytime I see Darcy lol

I was surprised there was no reference to Brackenreid's new political career in this episode. With the PM and Meyers there, it would have been an opportunity for him to preen a bit. It was a very busy episode with a complex story line and lots of characters, so perhaps there wasn’t the scope for it. I’m interested in how things will evolve for Brackenreid in this area though. It does open up lots of story ideas.

I have watched William and Julia through 3 tv movies and 4 series now. When you mention the 3 TV movies, do you mean the Peter Outerbridge/Keeley Hawes ones? Or are there some movies with the actors we know from MM show? I've not seen the Peter Outerbridge version of Murdoch - are they good? When you see one actor playing a character it is sometimes hard to accept another - though of course Dr Who does it all the time

I suppose there are not any other movies about Murdoch. I've not seen them either, but I'm looking forward to it. Remember when I saw one of them on TV I simply couldn't concentrate on the plot and I didn't like detective stories that time. So I switched it off. And they were showed again, but by that time I'd seen 1 season of these MM, so it was simply hard to accept another leading characters. Nevertheless, I will watch these movies soon, and it will be easy for me to accept the other Murdoch cause I am trained now by watching different Doctors And I like Keeley Hawes) BTW, is there a thread about movies? It will be interesting to discuss them)

Yes, I mean the 3 tv movies with Outerbridge/Hawes. Though Julia actually only appeared in two. They definitely are connected to the show as in S1, William mentions how he first met and worked with Julia and it's one of the movie cases (which according to what he said are set 2 years and less before S1). The movies are good, they feel a bit darker than the show and I prefer the tv show chemistry of W&J but it's nice to see how they first met and that the interest - while subtle at first - was always present.
The problem with the movies is of course getting used to other actors playing the characters (though they do a good job), and the fact William has another potential love interest in them besides Julia, and I do dislike them having other love interests lol. I would recommend all MM fans to watch them as it completes a circle in the W&J history. I have all 3 movies on dvd.
