Hi everyone, I have news on the air date but not what we wanted to hear. The air date has been postponed and CityTV has not given out a new air date. If our friends in Canada have more info could you please let us know? Iden Ford - Maureen Jennings' husband - posted this on Facebook Sunday: "Dear Fans and Friends of Murdoch Mysteries. I found out this morning that the start date of series 4 has been postponed. I am terribly sorry but you may be waiting awhile to see season 4 in Canada. When the producers can confirm a new air date for season 4 on CITY TV, it will be announced. I have also sent along many of your stated concerns re website update and communication. Thank you for your patience!" He also commented on his post saying: "It is possible that an impending election is affecting the revised air date and will influence when we get to see series four but I am guessing" I'm sorry to all of you who have to wait. If you want to see Iden's posts or become a friend with him on Facebook. Here's the link: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=528728155(If it doesn't work, let me know)

No it didn't, it was a repeat.
I don't know when it's due to air. I heard that it might not be until the end of April.

I've found that Iden is pretty reliable when he posts an update... If he doesn't know there probably isn't a new release date yet... Which could mean it will be a little while.
They replayed season 2's episode "Mild Mild West". I'm not quite sure why for the delay then... But it could be to avoid political trouble. There could be a vote of non confidence in the House of Commons on March 22nd so it could be to avoid political troubles given Harper's episode would be coming up.... But that's just speculation on my part given iden's blog post.

You know that's a very good possibility, matthew. Someone posted this on MM on CityTV page on FB: "I contacted City TV about the Season 4 premiere of MM being postponed. They don't have a new air date to give us yet but they think it will probably be in late May. It will definitely be returning to City TV although they gave me no reason as to why it is being delayed. I'd tell you to keep checking the website, although I don't think City TV does a very good job of keeping it updated."

"Snakes & Ladders" is scheduled for 30 March and "Dinosaur Fever" for 6 April. There is a clip on youtube of Stephen Harper being interviewed on BT about his acting gig and there they say his episode won't be on until the summer in Canada.
For those of you who might not know, late May is the start of the 'off-season' for TV in Canada. Last summer Shaw had huge success with their new show "rookie blue", which they premièred on 24 June. It looks like Rogers is positioning "Murdoch Mysteries" to be their summer non-reality show. If it gets scheduled date and time same as "rookie blue" it won't be good for a 5th season.
On the upside the folk at Shaftesbury took down the season 3 info and put up a season 4 episode guide on the official site a few days ago. I really wish they would leave all seasons available. But it has been updated.

delirous, you mean www.murdochmysteries.com updated. Yeah, the episode guide and photo gallery is updated for S4 but they have previous seasons in the episode guide, too. I wish they had new interviews but they are still the ones from early in S2. Thanks for the info on when S4 might air. I don't understand their strategy when everyone was expecting it in March! Seems like shooting yourself in the foot to me.

hannikan, one thing maybe you are not considering is the ratings for Murdoch Mysteries are a pitiful nothing compared to the imported American shows. A repeat of Minute To Win It will do better in the ratings and thus bring in more advertising revenue than will a new episode of Murdoch Mysteries. By putting Murdoch Mysteries on Citytv Tuesdays in the summer Rogers is more shooting the British fans in the feet than anyone else. Maybe there are more fans on this side of the Atlantic than i have found but everything seems to be fans who watch on Alibi in the UK, hence my belief the fan-base is greater there. Tuesdays in the summer will have Murdoch Mysteries up against Shaw's new medical drama on Global in some time zones.
That all sounds a bit gloomy but there is an up-side. It is a bit odd. Murdoch Mysteries is Rogers' only scripted drama that is 100% CanCon-approved and they don't seem to be working on any new shows at this time so there is a tiny chance for a fifth season. Mr Ford was rather happy about the sale of 52 episodes to a Chinese broadcaster a few weeks ago. 52 episodes is 4 seasons. I would have been happy if they had sold 65 episodes as that would mean a 5th season would be made.

Yeah, I've heard that Canadian stations air a lot of American shows and that would negatively impact how well Canadian produced shows do. It's too bad.
