I can't wait too. I suppose everyone can't Yesterday my sister and I went to biathlon champions race. That was fantastic! Just finished reading Stephen Fry's "Making History". So now I'm looking for a new book to read, maybe classics. Any suggestions?

Are you from LA Hannikan? Nope but we are moving to Southern California soon. We're from Northern California/the Bay Area. It took us 8.5 hours to get to where the job fair was in Orange County.

To drive from the top of our state (Eureka) to the bottom (San Diego) would take about 12 hours. And that's if there was no traffic (which would never happen) so it's more like 14 hours. Most people wouldn't do it in a day. They'd stop in the middle somewhere for the night. The trip we did should have been 7 hours but with L.A. traffic it was longer. The Bay Area is not really that far north but it's still considered N. California. Everything from San Jose and up is considered N. Calif. California is about the same size as Italy.

Cool, Lucy! I grew up near Yosemite (about an hour away) right in the middle of Calif. We spent a few days every winter there skiing or just playing in the snow. It's less crowded then than in the summer. Since living in Nor. Cal. I've visited Lake Tahoe each winter and summer. My in laws have a cabin there. I've actually never been to San Diego but my husband went to university there. When we move to So. Cal. we plan to visit. I want to go to LEGOLAND there.

I have to confess I loved it there although it was soooo cold in Yosemite and I almost passed put on one of the stores. Slightly embarrasing! I was ill the whole time we were in San Fran which spoilt it for me, the last thing I wanted to do was find a chemist! I really, really want to go back

If you do plan a trip to SF let me know. I live nearby (though we're moving soon) and have plenty of suggestions. I'm sorry you were sick. That's always the worst when traveling! Oh and you must have been in Yosemite in another season than summer. It's usually hot in the summer. That's another reason I prefer going in the winter. Spring is a nice time to go, too. If you ever go back you should see the giant redwoods in Sequoia Nat'l Forest if you didn't see that last time. It's nearby but not in the same park.

Yeah we went on October 31st, it was amazing to see the children going into the different shops trick or treating. Thar doesn't happen here. I'm not sure where we were exactly but we went to see the half dome, twice. The camera batteries ran out the first time! Aha

Oh yeah, Halloween is a big deal here, esp for children. But even adults have costume parties for it. Last year I was Anne of Green Gables when she was a teacher. I bet Yosemite would be pretty in the fall, too. Were there fall colors? I don't know that there are too many trees up there that would change color.

aha... The UK would fit inside Mexico 3 times!! That just shows how big the US is!!
I can't remember really, I think there were mostly trees that are green all year round.
My favourite placr is San Francisco, seeing the mist/fog around Golden Gate was amazing. Alcatraz was amazing too!
