IMHO it suits you much better than Twisted Sister. You don't know me, twisted sister would probably be more true to my offline personality. Hahahahahahahahah!!!!

I like Desk Sargeant Hodge too, even though in our brief acquaintance you do strike me as a woman of action. Please don't change your avatar yet! Besides it being freaking awesome, some people who are not on this board as often might lose track of who you are! Don't worry eus, the avatar will stay for some time. I agree it's freaking awesome! It'll have to be a much better pic to make me want to change it. Loved this pic the moment I saw it and my friend managed to get me a poster of it at the screening. That's a good friend to have.

Hi everyone
I am a newbie in the wonderful world of Murdoch - both with the the show and this fan site, so please have patience with me and we will get along really fine. I am from Australia and live on the Central Coast of NSW and my other favourite shows are : Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (an Australian Crime Show set in the late 1920s), Castle and NCIS. Have all seasons of Murdoch except 5 which is still on order. Hope to make new friends.

Well, hello everyone. My handle is WHATHAVEYOUGEORGE. I can't believe no one has used that before. Oh well, I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I also want to say that I am familiar with South Simcoe Railway and the steam engine they film on Murdoch Mysteries. I wonder why they have not had an episode with streetcars as electric streetcars began running in Toronto during the late 1890s, around the period of Murdoch Mysteries. Does anyone know if they are going to have a Murdoch fan day this year?

Yes, some time in August but the date hasn't been set yet. Hi btw! I take it you're in Canada.

Perhaps MM could collaborate with the Tourist Board on that one.

Perhaps MM could collaborate with the Tourist Board on that one. From Twitter this morning, this may explain why there aren't many, if any streetcars from that era left:
TorontoRailwayMuseum @torailwaymuseum · 1h1 hour ago Mar 25, 1912: fire destroys 145 streetcars stored at the King car house of the Toronto Railway Company at King and St. Lawrence Streets. 1/3

Streetcars were used in "The Black Hand", filmed at the Halton Radial Rail Museum in Milton. I hope they will use that location again because streetcars were so integral to the development of Toronto at that time.

Thank you, lovemondays. I can't believe no one chose that handle before. I was going to use either that or 'bloody h*ll'. I've been a fan, off and on, for 2 - 3 years but I've seen every episode this season and I am 'catching up' with previous seasons when I find time. I just watched The Black Hand episode and I recall seeing that episode a few years back. I have been to the streetcar museum many many times. My uncle was a transit historian and I remember how much detail in the streetcar scene he knew was not possible. For one, the streetcar they used was built around 1921, much later than the time period of the show. I can't remember every detail but, I'm not sure if that station would have been built at that time either. I'll continue researching and let you know if I find anything else that would not be accurate. Perhaps this is why they haven't filmed much at that location. They don't have any streetcars that were built in the 1800's.

I just did some more research on the streetcars in the black hand episode, and the large green streetcar in the background, was built in 1912, however, even if the time period was correct, that streetcar and the streetcar the 'murder' took place on, would not have been in the same location when they were still 'in service' as the large green streetcar was in service in Montreal, not Toronto. That episode, historically is not correct, but enjoy it. They really did a nice job showing some old streetcars and it actually boosted attendance at the museum for a while.
