At last I got them posted in a somewhat legible form in the Fan Fiction folder. I had to resort to a using desktop at the library to get a readable format. I look forward to discussion and any fully-developed results.

Hello, I'm UrbanPeregrine, and the results of a practical or natural experiment seem to indicate that I'm a fan of Murdoch Mysteries. Back in April, a colleague gave me a television, and since then I've been trying to play catch-up on some viewing. I used a week of vacation, and this series was on my wish list and available at the library, so I borrowed Seasons 1 through 8 and settled in for some binge watching. The odd thing was, I quite literally couldn't seem to stop watching, despite the need to change discs and even go from one case to another. My brain and body didn't give me any of the cues of fatigue like yawning or feeling sleepy. For several days running, I'd keep going until 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning before "coming to" and shutting off the equipment for a while to catch a nap. I seem to have gotten a severe case of And Then What Happens. Worse yet, I wrote a couple of story ideas covering several pages on my tablet, which I understand could be embryonic fan fiction. I gather that fans communicate through websites like this, hence this message. <Cue blush> OK, so after that oddly Murdochian introduction, I suppose I should be a bit more forthcoming. I'm an American, and I live in Iowa, USA. I do have a B.A. in English and an interest in history. As for employment, I took a survival job in early 2008 when the recession was on and I'm still working there. The screen name isn't related to the show; it's a reference to some birds of prey that live in the area and nest atop some of the buildings, including a former abode of mine. I don't use much social media, and I don't have wifi at home, so please don't feel I'm ignoring you if I don't reply to any of you instantly. That said, I am not a complete Luddite; I have contributed to TV Tropes off and on for several years now (under a different handle). Presently, I am availing myself of the local public library's wifi in order to make contact with you lot. As for what I like about the show, I hardly know where to start. The stories, the production design and visuals, the acting--the whole package is first-rate. I can't even pick a favourite character, since there are aspects of all of them that I identify with and enjoy, though I suppose my own brain sometimes works like Murdoch's. Sorry there's no avatar, I haven't really taken much trouble to find one, and the library will soon close for the night. Anyway, I look forward to being here as often as I can. I shall try to watch the shows of Season 9 online when I get a chance, and I'll join the library queue when the staff orders the DVDs. I've also had a look at the TV Tropes pages on the show, and it seems they could use a bit of work (especially the recaps). Hopefully that will happen somehow. Welcome! And that has been quite the binge you have been on.
You will be happy to know the Peregrine Falcon is indigenous to the Toronto area and would have been quite common in Murdoch's period.....they have been making a comeback the last few years and there are several pairs nesting on downtown office buildings. The Canadian Peregrine Association in based here and I've attended a few of their talks and presentations.
Cheers Another birder here. A number of my friends volunteer at the Canadian Peregrine Foundation. A few days ago a friend spotted a Peregrine as it took down a pigeon in mid flight, she was totally in awe!

Years ago, I watched a peregrine dive from a downtown office tower and take a pigeon in mid air as well and it was a sight to behold. Amazing birds, especially when you consider they aren't very big.

Hi, I am not new but I have not been on here for quite awhile so I thought I would introduce myself again. Am a great fan of Murdoch Mysteries, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, NCIS and Castle. I follow Rugby League and my Team the Wests Tigers and live on the Central Coast of NSW Australia in a suburb of Umina Beach ( used to live in Ettalong Beach which is next to Umina Beach)

My wife and I have been watching Murdoch Mysteries on DVD via Netflix. We don't mind waiting until the seasons are released and available, we both dislike shows cut to bits with commercials, plus we can stop, back up, pause, etc. We're currently viewing season 9. We also like the Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and are anxiously waiting for the 3rd season to be available.

Hello everyone! Been a fan of the show for a couple years now, but only recently got into watching regularly! Stumbled upon this site because I've gotten into the habit of researching characters to see who is based on a historical figure and who is " made up". Having just watched season 9's episode "Wild Child", I felt compelled to join because this episode is the first one to hit me emotionally! Watching Murdoch give baby Roland to his Father was heartbreaking! Even more so than all the Edna Brooks/ George Crabtree drama! Can't wait to get into season 10!

Hi all, I am new here. Thank you Lucy for creating and maintaining this site. I've enjoyed watching the MM these past few months, since I've discovered it. I like the historical background, and Murdoch's inventions. I also like Dr Ogden, she's refreshingly strong for a woman of that time. I particularly enjoy her scientific mind, quite evidence based.
I am looking forward to having season 10 available next year.
I did not get a chance to explore the forum in depth (so much stuff!!!), is there a thread dedicated to technological advances of the era that made it into Murdoch's office? Also, do people here also enjoy discussing flaws (timing, knowledge gaps that should not be there, etc)? I love the series, but I am the type that likes to analyze things on all sides.

Welcome both of you! There is discussion of flaws in regards to many different aspects of the show and is always welcome I'm not sure if there is a dedicated thread for the technology in the episodes (if not you can always start one!) but if a certain technology plays a part in an episode it's likely it's been discussed in that episodes dedicated thread!

Thank you, Lea! I found the episode by episode discussions, really fun. I am still looking for the ones on flaws.

Welcome Synapse and Meoldmucker....enjoy posting.....if you look at the specific episode threads, you will find we've been good at picking them apart......there is also a whole section on the history of Murdoch's Toronto and scientific aspects of the era......

Hello--I just found this board. As you can see from my screen name, I am a Miss Fisher fan, and was turned on to Murdoch by some people on the Miss Fisher facebook page. I am currently in the process of binge watching Murdoch on Netflix, and am on season 7. I'm also recording episodes on Ovation.
I am thoroughly enjoying the series, though there are certain disadvantages to watching so many seasons in rapid succession. Continuity errors are a bit more glaring, and the characters' bad personal choices become a bit more aggravating. But it's still such a well-done series, and the actors and characters are so engaging. And the upside of a binge watch is you can see characters' changes--or lack thereof-- more clearly, such as how Julia's untidiness transformed to elegance after Buffalo and her engagement and marriage to Darcy. And how Murdoch stays Murdoch no matter what.

Hello. I am a very new fan from the states. I have been watching it for a little more than a month and am now done with all 10 seasons. (It ate my life) I don't usually watch a lot of shows either. I just wanted to find other fans because I don't know any others so I joined here. :-)

Hi everyone! I've never been so invested in a tv show that I joined a fan club or message board but I just got through season 10 and no one I know watches it and I NEEDED someone to talk to. George Crabtree has been my favorite character since early in the series and Constable Jackson has recently become one of favorite characters too.
Please feel free to message me because I seriously have no idea how I'm going to be able to wait to find out what happened to everyone! I'm totally open to discussing theories about what will happen in the next season, debating character relationships, et al. I have no one to talk about MM with so I'd love to chat!
