Yeah, I think you may be right about her being an obsessed fan. I did see the clip from the next episode and wow, she is not a normal Victorian woman. She would be considered a sex addict in those days!

Mm, I have to say I am disappointed that it is a friend from the TO Athletic Club. That's way too close to Julia-Dr.Tasch-William. I still think Emily's character is too imitative of Julia in the early seasons in terms of plots.

I still think Emily's character is too imitative of Julia in the early seasons in terms of plots. She's a mini-Julia, that is basically her role. Even the G/E romance is basically just retreading W/J's old ground only it seems more childish. I feel no chemistry between G/E and the storyline bores me. Though I do like them as individual characters.

Wasn't Emily brought in just for another female pathologist role?

I actually think Gemily has better chemistry than W/J... But like I've said elsewhere, the two relationships are actually very different. Gemily isn't full of longing and repression like W/J. They're young and bright without any baggage. It's nice, and to me a refreshing change for the show.
And I don't think she's a mini-Julia. If you look beyond the morgue she really is the next generation of women.

Wasn't Emily brought in just for another female pathologist role? That and for a George love interest. She isn't much of a character in her own right. And G/E aren't much of a storyline, they barely get any development and what they do get feels forced like we're meant to automatically root for them because they're the next cop/pathologist combo. But I've never been given a reason to care about them, or to believe they're some great love story. George had better chemistry with Ruby and Tess.

If you look beyond the morgue she really is the next generation of women. Julia is more modern than Emily in a lot of ways, and she has already done everything Emily does. Each to their own but I don't think G/E are refreshing, they're just a waste of screen time. There is already a romance on the show, there doesn't need to be two. It's a crime show not a relationship drama. W/J worked because they added some spark to things, but G/E is overkill in my opinion. It's one storyline I'd personally drop, I preferred it when George had any love interests on a temporary basis, or like Brackenreid only onscreen sometimes.

Wow. Wow Wow. I just saw a new CBC promo for Monday's Murdoch mysteries. It looks like it'll be a good one. Darcy is in it again and the few seconds they showed us looked very promising. It made up for seeing my habs lose.

I have seen this sneak preview. Everybody on facebook is wondering how it is possible that Murdoch could kiss another woman than Julia even in his imagination and so do I -I admit- and I can't wait for the next episode in oder to know the explanation. I'm pretty sure it's just a dream (*) because the scene is cut at the end as if the second later someone will realise that what happened was not real- I said someone bacause I hope that is not Murdoch who is daydreaming- but Julia. Maybe she is jealous of this woman who probably turns around her William because she has a crush on him or because she purposely uses her feminine attributes to try and divert his attention from the ongoing case. Julia trusts William but she can't help to think that this woman is ready to do everything to seduce him. But it's just a supposition and maybe you will find it stupid. I have two others ideas but it's too hard to me to explain them in english without misunderstanding. Do not hesitate to correct my sentences if you see mistakes (grammar and conjugation). (*because of the way the scene is filmed durind they are kissing; the camera is stationary and they seem to be on a turntable)

I think you may very well be right, fan2Tvshows, mostly because this woman would be locked up for doing that to a police officer! Yes, Emily was brought in to be the new pathologist when Helene was unavailable for much of S5, too. But I think she was brought in just as much or more to be a love interest for George. I wanted George to have a romance, but this feels forced to me. I just don't think the actors have enough chemistry, which is sad since he had so much chemistry with Ruby, Edna and even Tess. I would much rather have had Edna return to check on her dog, Violet. But probably that actress was not available. We know Sarah Gadon (Ruby) was not. I do think Georgina and Jonny are developing chemistry but it still just isn't very natural to me. Maybe it's because she's actually married to one of Jonny's best friends IRL! She's adorable, but just not with George.

I never thought about that clip being someone else's fantasy besides William's and Eva's, but if its Julia's that would fit as well! Thanks for thinking outside the box!

I think you may very well be right, fan2Tvshows, mostly because this woman would be locked up for doing that to a police officer! I've never believed the kiss was real or mutual. William would not kiss another woman when he won't sleep with Julia, who he's in love with, because she's still married and he doesn't want to commit adultery. So he wouldn't willingly kiss another woman thereby betraying Julia. It's most likely someones fantasy, but not William's unless he is imagining what the woman might do to him in a horrified way. That's my thoughts on the situation exactly. Though I don't feel they're developing chemistry as time goes on. They just don't do a thing for me. I wish I could say differently because we're meant to like them. But I can't work up any interest in their storyline. I prefer when they have scenes away from each other or when their scenes aren't based in romance. They're better as friends and colleagues.
