The actress may be black or bi-racial, but the other characters didn't acknowledge this. And like you said it is something that would have mean mentioned. So she was probably just meant to be italian, and the producers had casted without caring about the actress ethnicity. It's the only explanation that fits.

Helene Joy was in the credits this week yet still no sign of her. She'll be back by ep. 7, I believe. Yeah, the actress/singer is of African descent and doesn't look Italian at all in her features but I suppose they meant for her to be Italian. Like you say, it's the only thing that makes sense for how everyone responded to her. Where the last name Hamilton comes in, I have no idea. They choose her because she is a renowned opera singer. She has a beautiful voice.

Helena Joy was in the credits this week yet still no sign of her. She's always in the credits. Whether a character appears in the episode or not, if the actor is a contracted cast member their name will appear every week on the opening titles.

I had quite the surprise when I saw this episode. The love interest of Rosa was actually in a class with myself, my hubby and Paulino's (his actual name) his wife. When I saw the beginning credits and saw his name I nearly fell off the sofa! I think that's the closest I'll get to MM!!! LOL

I really enjoyed this episode. It's my fave so far. Maybe because it felt more like the MM I fell in love with when I first started watching MM. I also enjoy when reccuring characters make an appearance, such as Margaret. They should allow her to appear more often.
And yes, it was about time Brackenreid took center stage. At the end, I did wish Margaret would have joined Brackenreid in a scotch at the pub.

Well, it took me a while to get into this. I think the shrill voice at the very beginning set me off on the wrong note and I’m afraid I quickly became like Mrs Brackenreid till the end, desperately looking for something to scratch.
But with time I’ve come to learn to get through starting with Brackenreid being such a fanboy and William’s expression as he looked on got me going. Still, I struggle.

Another ep a day! 1. I like theater episodes as we get to see Brackenreid fangirl over the actresses 2. Pretty sure one of the dresses hanging in the dressing room is one Julia has worn on occasion! 3. Brackenreid pretty much let Rosa kiss him. Tsk, tsk. 4. I swear Margaret & the Inspector fight more than they do anything else. 5. I think Emily was being a bit sassy to William when she said "I completed the test three times... it's correct." This time I don't think William was doubting her, he always seems to ask people if they are sure.

The first season Shakespeare ep is on my list of "most boring", but this ep is on my list of secret treats. I'm not sure why - maybe it's because I really love the character of the Euro Diva. I do like this episode! I'd like to see Inspector B. and Margaret going to the opera in the future (and having some sort of kinky thing going). lol about the costume catch!
