It's an American TV show. Basically a couple of science geeks experimenting to prove or disprove scientific myths. They have young interns/apprentices who are from local universities mostly. They're based in the SF Bay Area. www.imdb.com/title/tt0383126/

Hmm, it's been on for a long time! It's rather unbelievable that I've never heard of it before now, even if I do live under a rock that doesn't get the discovery channel.

No feedback from any UK peeps on this ep? Is it just me or is everyone from the UK super quiet this year? Because Canada has it first so people are watching it on youtube maybe? Just surprising since last year there were heaps of comments everywhere...

I've just been watching this. There are significant parallels between Sherlock's deerstalker cap and William's homburg. The writers have intentionally been pursuing this theme! David Kingsley's Sherlock powers are strongest when the cap is on as well as his cape. He is most vulnerable when both are off. When William badgers Sherlock about "David's" memories the cap is off but as soon as David says his own name he puts the cap back on. If you watch his body language it is clear that the cap holds his protective powers as he slinks off to re-group.

I may have seen this is the new Cumberbatch Sherlock as well when he doesn't quite become the "media brand" Sherlock Holmes until he puts on the deestalker cap as he is trying to duck the paparazzi while leaving his home. I don't remember these episodes well, but couldn't he mysteriously dodge bullets or something while dressed as Sherlock? I can't remember if he was dressed as Sherlock when he was shot.

Sherlock was wearing both his cap and cape. Clearly the deerstalker cap doesn't have as much power as the homburg! After all the cap is only 6 months old whereas William's homburg is closer to 10 years old. Protective powers do take longer to develop for regular people than for superheroes. I haven't watched the new Sherlock. I'm still way behind with Elementary.

Another episode, yay!
1. I'm not super into Sherlock Holmes but quite like this episode!
2. The asylum doesn't seem to be operating well after Dr. Roberts was frozen.
3. "It appears you were mistaken about the fire escape, Detective." I crack up every time.
4. William is always so good at getting inside people's heads.
5. There was definitely the connection between the hats like lovemondays pointed out! I probably wouldn't have picked up on that!
