Thanks for keeping us posted. I haven't even started yet. Have to re-install chrome, darn it. I don't understand the "Periscope" thing. How does that work? I think William's absence has to do with the "live" aspect. This is taking place while YB has some time off. He may show up later in the series. I just realized lovemonday's "prediction" about the dye-tainted clothes never came about. Since the invention of mauve did ultimately link to the invention of mustard gas, I'm thinking her psychic prediction related to the web series rather than the TV show...? It works fine for me in Firefox 37.0.1 (latest version). Apparently Periscope is only available for the iPhone and it's a video twitter format ... or something like that. I don't do iAnything as I don't believe in overpaying for a name.

And yes, Periscope is an app for streaming live video over one's smart phone. I don't have any sort of smart phone, so I've no idea what the specs are for using it. (Yeah, I'm a Luddite when it comes to phones. Hate 'em. *wry grin*) I don't know if any of the "live" portions will actually involve any of the actors, especially the main ones. And we don't know when the video portions were filmed, but I am guessing that YB had other demands on his time then. He's a busy boy! What would really be cool is if the live meetings were almost role-playing sessions, and things that happened in them would then be incorporated into the storyline. But I doubt they have time or resources to do that. I'm guessing they'll be more static things - you show up, see the scene, look at the evidence, interact a bit with the "constables" there, but that's it. Though maybe, at the end, they'll have an actual (so to speak) visit from Princess-Royal Louise. That'd be cool!

There's no reason a the players themselves can't engage in a little role-playing.

If I've got it I don't know and really don't care about it. The less that's downloaded the better for me, I don't like excess 'stuff' taking up valuable HD space. I clean it out regularly. Though now I've got my new 2TB external HD it's not so important to keep the files down other than to keep the laptop running smoothly.

I was at the event on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. I did not expect to see any of the cast so I was not disappointed. The whole point was to get into the game, not a meet and greet. So I took my notebook and interviewed all the players about what they had, and what they knew about the body, which wasn't much. You had four constables, standing by the clues, and the body, a rabid anti-monarchist handing out pamphlets, a loud railway man with a criminal past, a dismissive ticket taker, and two ladies who were vocal about how much the dead body was inconveniencing them as they waited to take their train to Kingston.
I have no idea about a chemical mixing game. If it's something you have to download I probably can't do it!

No, it's not a download - it's a game you do in the Google Chrome browser. You mix the different chemicals that were found at the scene to see what you get. Thing is, I don't think you can get the last video with Crabtree without playing the game - at least, I don't see that video in Firefox.

OK I did find the chemical mixing game on the CBC website. It was fun and i was able to solve it. If anyone cannot get to the game, and would like me to tell you the poisonous compound, just PM me.

I think my 'psychic' prediction was the general idea that "the clothing did it" as in The Devil Wears Whalebone.

You should decorate it a lot and make it into a collector's item for yourself!

It's weird that this isn't in Firefox but it's in Chrome. There's a definite gap where the video and game should be in Firefox. I watched it in Chrome so now I'm up to date except for the stuff from Saturday which I guess I'll have to get to tomorrow or Wednesday before the next chapter comes out.

I think my 'psychic' prediction was the general idea that "the clothing did it" as in The Devil Wears Whalebone. Now that was cheating! They can certainly squeeze a few more ideas out of your psychic prowess: the chemical dyes did it, the workers organized to do it, they dyes converted to mustard gas (I see this coming in the web game...)...

I don't understand why they favor Chrome, either. I'm under the impression Firefox is the dominant browser. Maybe Chrome has some special video plug-in capability...?

Add to that they chose to use Periscope for the video and it's only for iPhone they're basically ignoring a large section of their audience or forcing them to use something they'd prefer not to just to join in. Doesn't make sense to me. I do occasionally use Chrome so that isn't a problem but I refuse to pay for a name i.e. Apple products.

I'm not able to watch the live stream simply because I have android devices. Poop.
