Kind of, sort of...could you redirect me? I was referring to this one (I put the interesting phrases in bold): murdochmysteriesfans.proboards.com/post/12411/threadMy thought is that William and Julia would both be all high-minded about supporting scholarly work while both secretly knowing that they looked forward to every volume received because it turned them both on (perhaps they even enjoyed reading it out loud to each other, bookmarking crucial pages, annotating, playing "hide the book", etc...). It just strikes me they both enjoy playing that sort of game: saying the proper thing while totally doing/meaning the debaucherous thing!

Currently I'm sipping an iced chai in a boho cafe while perusing Victorian Secrets: An Anthology of Victorian Erotica and The Collector's edition of Victorian Erotica. Had to leave Masterpieces of Victorian Erotica on the hold shelf because I hit my card limit. Since I checked these out for bragging rights, I'm not sure what I should be looking for. At a glance I can report this is definitely dark Victriania covering a range of, erm, predilections.
Suggestions? Requests? No I don't have a way to scan them. T_T

lol - "The Collector's Edition of Victorian Erotica" reads like 50 Shades of Gray in corsets, occasionally in "School of Whores" form. I agree with the Amazon consensus: I doubt these are actual Victorian texts. Interesting that the book (and others by the same author) ended up on the shelf of a world class academic library. A quick Google search of the author "Major LaCaritilie" doesn't reveal any definitive debunking, though. Maybe academics think the fraud is too obvious to bother...?
Update: tried to research one title "The Misfortunes of Mary". This was published in 1959 under the author Arnold Kem claiming to be from a translation of a "lost French work". It's also in an Anais Nin collection of "lost erotic classics."
I'm wondering if Anais Nin wrote this one and pawned it off as a found "lost work" to sell her anthology. I also find it interesting that the much-abused Mary is Irish Catholic, while her sadist employer sounds like an English military person ("Colonel Barrington"). Anyway it's still "50 Shades": my spidey senses tell me that one at least was written in the modern era.

CC what did you think of the suggestion about doing a "tease" or "reasons for revenge" vid for early seasons?
Another idea might be to do a "cheesecake" vid of Season 1 to show how much CityTV/Shaftsbury flirted with Baywatch!Mysteries.

If you wanna make a list I'll gladly splice it all together for ya! Was there really much beefcake outside of still waters?

Probably after this weekend, because there is free HBO on TV right now! Would the priest count as "beefcake"?

The Knockdown had "The Beast" and asked about brains vs. brawn. Til Death Do us Part had metrosexuals. Perhaps Yannick was meant to carry the rest.
