I count William as more pervy than George. The reason is William pretends he isn't looking. George either openly looks at something sexy going on, or he politely doesn't look. True perviness involves an element of deviousness that George doesn't have. By the way, I love your new avatar CC! Okay pervy isn't the right word. Curious is better. Thanks! Ten points if you can tell me the episode it's from. Hint: it's last season. Last Train to Kingston?

For a show about proper folk in the early 20th century or life back when people were "respectable" , this show abounds with pervitude. And may I just say, carry on, and thank you good sirs and ladies. Carry on!

I hope you don't mind if I embed a sample! You've discovered an important point here - during Julia's whole "I've left Darcy" speech, all William could do was sneak peeks at her breasts. It makes one wonder whether he had few opportunities to view them before and/or whether Julia rarely wore low cut dresses. Check out the whole gif series: holy-lakemonster-batman.tumblr.com/post/100206780112/what-the-great-detective-was-really-thinking#notesEven if it was possible the show would be cancelled, I always found William's reaction to Julia's "parting" from Darcy odd. If he had issues with marrying a Divorcee and he knew Julia had already slept with Darcy (no annulment) - what kind of future relationship did he think he and Julia were going to have? Yet as soon as Julia said she had "parted" from Darcy, William was all over her. In public. Around people who knew Julia as a married woman. Likely destroying her reputation. Now we know why. William was mesmerized by the boobies.

MM really does anything the writers, directors, and actors want to do. They just wrap it in a particular style that fools reviewers into dismissing it as not "edgy". I think it behooves us to manifesto that style.

Yup! He wasn't thinking with his big brain that night. Realistically this would have caused an epic scandal the next day. There might have even been pictures in the papers. Gossip in society columns. Julia would have had to defend her reputation with a sword. William's behavior might have been questioned as well.

The fic I read intimated that was a big part of why Julia left for Vienna...to get away from all the scandal. I believe Darcy did a similar thing when he went on holiday.
