Well, yeah. It was greatness! But seriously, I don't understand why this fandom doesn't have more fic. It truly baffles the mind-the show screams for it. I still totally think it's lack of separate archive. Especially since fanfic.net is seen as being kind of "kiddie fic". Also, did I read correctly that fic expires there? No, the file you upload disappears after 90 days, but the fic stays there. One can no longer make changes to a file after 90 days.

It's cuz my MAN fic was so great everyone was intimidated. Which MAN fic was that? I thought George was THE MAN now. btw, everyone wears pomade on MM. Apparently it was a thing! I think she's talking about her Murdoch au Natural fic. Which was good!

I just noticed that this thread about the title character being a perv is 20 pages long. She's right-that's clearly the mark of a wholesome show! *snorts coffee* I'm looking for a screencap of William "studying" the titillating postcards to add here. UPDATE: Got it - Thank you, randomkiwibirds! William's expression is sort of "hmm". I think he's deciding Julia was right about them rather than getting off on them. Oh I don't think that he's about to do that at all. I really think it was distraction to get his mind off the fact that something is very wrong with his relationship. It's like a man who might flip through a copy of Playboy to pass the time.

What's the tag on that? Butts? Perv? Hmm I think I have it under Odds and Ends. An actual page on my blog. Anyway, as you've already seen, I have another hypocrite moment for you. William looking at erotica after telling Julia that it made men's minds go to dark places.

Honey, that's not saying much since we have 20 pages on 3 seconds of tie twiddling. IMHO the Tie Twiddling is simply an addendum to the 20 pages of pervitude since it's technically about twiddling with a phallic symbol. I seriously wonder if this person is even watching the same show as us?

Hahaha! That person fails at innuendo, subtext, and reading between the lines. This show is deliciously dirty-but it's just under the surface-you have to basically be pervs like us and be looking for it I guess. Or you have to be willing to look up what that weird historic Britishism really means...

A logging camp would make "speaking lechery" very easily. I want to agree he had some experience to get the "randiness" out of his system early on - I just have a hard time envisioning how he did it safely. How many boys did you know back in college who were concerned sexual safety? I don't think William was always so cautious. I like to think he had a scare of some sort or equally traumatic event that made him question why he was wasting his intellect and education and he cleaned up his act. He's not as squeaky clean as he appears. I think. We live in a different era where people don't get the pox and lose their noses or so easily end up with babies they can't take care of over a little roll in the hay. It's easier to be promiscuous today. That's why all the Bible-thumpers and Church Ladies across middle America are scrambling to deny women abortions and birth control: they want to make sure there are "consequences" for having sex so they can force marriage on people.

I've been told it's relaxing.

I seriously wonder if this person is even watching the same show as us? There are several Amazon reviews that invoke how "clean" the show is as a positive. I think she(?) was trying to help. I think we can have it both ways. It is a clean show if you aren't looking at it through Innuendo Lenses.

Relaxing to the men, and probably seriously uncomfortable to the women sitting next to them, hahaha. Wouldn't William be embarrassed if he started, say, blushing in public?

But people-especially young men-don't always think with their big head. Hell, young women too for that matter. I've worked with them-I would know. Whatever, it's fun to debate.

But I think FallenBelle's example is a stronger one.

Watching Loch Ness Murdoch, until I have to turn over to watch the local boy in Dr Who. Anyway I guess the person who thought MM was clean didn't pay attention when they were in the water. Firstly William wishpers something scandalous to Julie and then Julie says something is touching me, William didn't think she meant his foot.

Really? **adds to list of scenes to rewatch and analyze**
