I also use this scene to bolster the William is not a virgin theory . I was leaning that way myself until this most recent episode. I'm back at virgin. Why else would he be that freaked at a brothel when he's been comfortable in them before? Still, I think the show is trying to play it both ways. Sure they're playing both ways! He's freaked out because he's exhausted from not sleeping with Julia because he's anticipating the wedding night! I read that reaction as 'good Catholic boy is embroiled in his lustful, sinful fantasies of his betrothed'.

Totally! He'd already been fantasizing quite a bit about that. Why do I suspect that William is one of those men who think all pregnant women are incredibly hot?I think he is the kind of man who thinks a pregnant Julia will be incredibly hot. I don't think that opinion goes beyond her, but I don't think he's of the opinion that pregnant women should remain indoors for the duration. Anything's possible, not huge numbers, but quite a few men I've known have told me that they find pregnant women hot in general. I've read that it was an open secret that JFK had a serious kink for ladies in the family way!

I think a good Catholic boy would be freaked out at a brother a few days before the wedding whether he was a virgin or not. So I don't think that makes virginity canon. But I do think it bolsters the argument for those who favor that theory. I think it will make for a more exciting wedding night.

I just thought he was a lothario.

But, I just can't help but think of that expression when I watch the scene and watch Brax try not to snicker too loud at his bumbling about. Such an adorable scene. I think I may like it better than his reaction to the belly dancer-but only slightly.

Anything's possible, not huge numbers, but quite a few men I've known have told me that they find pregnant women hot in general. I've read that it was an open secret that JFK had a serious kink for ladies in the family way! When I wake up in the morning, there's usually a radio show on, and yesterday the guy was reading a list of how men's preference for curvy women changed according to circumstance. Apparently richer men prefer women with smaller breasts. This related to wanting children. Men who wanted children preferred larger breasts because they were associated with fertility. Also men preferred larger breasts when they were hungry. After they had their dinner - smaller breasts were okay, hahahha. Anyway, maybe subconsciously William is afraid of the responsibility of having children if his sexual preference is for the slender "woman of scandal" and not the buxom fertility goddess? btw, Yannick claims to adore pregnant women. So if his preferences carry over to the character, then yes, William will also be adoring pregnant Julia. Considering the fact she isn't supposed to get pregnant in the first place, and it will be a "miracle" if she does, I should think all the more adoration would ensue. However, a miscarriage would be built-in angst.

The Belly Dancer expression was less virginal: it was more: "Well...now that I'm here, I might as well enjoy this...hohoho..." A little embarrassed, but intrigued all the same. I don't think he felt too sinful: he was probably imagining Julia in that outfit.

Very true. They were talking in tongues specifically about sex. It was a VERY risque conversation and neither one of them backed away from it. Virgin William would have blushed for sure. Let us not forget either that it was William who started the exchange and the look on his face says he knew exactly where it would go. Speaking in tongues-what a wonderful way of putting it. That's exactly what they were doing-couching it in animal husbandry just made the conversation polite enough-but only just. It was totally William's way of letting Julia know that he wanted to do unspeakable things to her. Julia, in turn, acknowledged it and reciprocated those feelings by furthering the discussion. If this conversation had gone over like a lead balloon, he could always have saved face by saying he was just speaking about eugenics and animal husbandry. I don't know that it convinces me he wasn't a virgin, but it definitely tells me that he was deriving base pleasure from scientific readings. Definitely a perv! What was funny about this conversation is it actually shocked Julia! That's hard to do! Score one for William! He is getting some sort of "education" from his scientific reading, virgin or not.

I think what you see as cheesy (and perhaps it is) seems to us as very aroused. Sure, he may have been thinking of babies, but he was more intrigued with how she might get that way. Yup. Absolutely. Love the mutual intake of breath. **fanning self**. Yeah, but pathetic if going nowhere that night!

It took Julia exactly one nanosecond to get over her shock and jump right into the deep end of the conversation as she steps well inside William's personal space. Needs to find lustful emoticon .
