I'd like to see the c'mon, but perhaps with a tad less sleaze? I don't know what it was about that scene, but it gave me the impression of a bad 1970s porno. You're right-it reminded me of a bad 70's porno (not that I've ever seen one to know for sure), but I think that was part of it's charm. It was a bit nerdy and inelegant-very William, IMO! Yep, I was able to incorporate it into "acceptable William canon" as nerd overkill, especially because of Julia's reaction. And because I knew he wasn't getting any with that approach, lol.

I'm not so sure. It's such a cheesy pass it's almost like he's trying too hard. And I think he means "breeding" children after marriage. Which Julia underscores with the word "husbandry". Very true. They were talking in tongues specifically about sex. It was a VERY risque conversation and neither one of them backed away from it. Virgin William would have blushed for sure. Let us not forget either that it was William who started the exchange and the look on his face says he knew exactly where it would go. This scene felt all wrong to me even though I liked it. It was more like an out of William experience to me and he was definitely himself. I wondered if this episode was written by a new writer that wasn't as familiar with the characters.

I think Yannick was also changing William's character in the third Season. Originally the character was close to Asperger's shy. By season 3 he was mainly just a science nerd, but quite the manly man in other ways. I think in latter seasons everyone decided it was funny for William to be both - you never know which personality is going to pop out.

I loved how Julia stood up to him and let him know "husbandry" would have to be involved in any further talk of "breeding". Which makes me wonder if William had tried anything before...? (not including TGM...) OMG! I didn't think of it like that-but you're right. And then he didn't deliver on the proposal in spite of her hints...ouch! Actually it would put Julia's irritation at William's delays in a whole different light if he had been "trying to get the milk for free" repeatedly. But that wouldn't jive with Julia's later respect for William as a Man of Principle and the way he insisted on waiting for marriage. Unless this first turn of events scared the lothario out of him lol.

It's possible-maybe he wanted to wait for her this time because he wanted to show her how much he cared for her-he was going to do the right thing this time? Certainly worth considering!

Oh darn it, I just had this image of William standing at the bottom of the stairs of a bordello. It raining and he is wearing the hat; in his hand he is holding a book opened to a specific page. He has that absolutely irresistable lost little boy look. He doesn't say anything but the look is quite eloquent. (Sorry but it just popped into my mind and I started laughing.) I see another fanfic! What is William doing in the bordello with that book? Does he need some coaching before his wedding night? I think he wants to see if the human body can bend that way.

In Body Double - after William tells George to stop looking at the naked lady painting with "Lead Us Not into Temptation", he indulges in taking a lengthy glance at the painting himself.

List of pseudo-pornography moments in MM Body Double - Painting in Secret Room The Green Muse - Bathsheba Painting, Landscape Painting In the Altogether - Saucy Postcards Walk on the Wildside - Porno Fic Should we include episodes where George and/or William were actually looking at naked or partially clothed women - with the periscope or the telescope in Big Murder on Campus?

Watching Murdoch Takes Manhattan tonight I was completely taken aback and highly amused by the scene with the periscope. If that isn't fan service to this specific thread, I don't know what is!
I had to watch the scene twice to get the exact words: "Oh, it's so big. But it goes in quite easily. And it reaches right in to that ... Perfect spot."
And not five minutes later, he is ogling Julia's backside and then trying not to look!

But I laughed all the same. And Julia exclaims, "OH MY GOD!"

We've had the tie in GD now we've had the butt check and the innuendo.
