Haha she made it right after stealing his thunder about the mummified girl in the peat bog. She's been pushing his buttons for a loooong time. Very true, but I think that is one of those reverse attraction things. William values her intelligence and knowledge even when she does steal his thunder. Frustration-admiration. Troll face-beautiful. Lady of society-interview room dominatrix...

Valid point, but beautiful troll face doesn't make it into William's dark place pondering.

My first attempt to reply via kindle (e-ink type!). Had to rofl at the sex book, and once more mourn the lack of a dedicated fanfic archive...because that idea alone could launch a thousand hilarious fics...-fans self- Like what if William got stuck trying to reach for it in its behind-cupboard hiding place...XD I might try writing this fic, but I haven't a clue as to titles of books/articles he would be reading to get this info. If I'm doing it, I need actual books from the period-books on the art of love.

Also, I find it funny that the fourth Murdoch book makes note of Murdoch hiding a 'special' book from Mrs. Kitchen. But the book he was hiding was nothing very useful to his 'needs' so no point in giving you the name.

If I'm doing it, I need actual books from the period-books on the art of love. At least a dozen potential fics have come up in forum chat just in the last 24 hours. My head is spinning! Your research should be fun, and I have no doubt such books actually exist. Need any help? I have access to a major university library.

Well you guys asked for it so here you go! hahaha finally got a chance to watch this with the sound on. Still laughing! Thank you! Sure thing! Emily really wanted to explore her 'dark cave'. Also, really dumb question, but when did Emily and Julia start wearing so much makeup? I think maybe it started in S6 but maybe it was just a little more every season...

It's called Our Bodily Dwelling but no author is given. Most of her details are scarily accurate so I'd be surprised if this wasn't a real book.

I phail at being in touch with my feminine Freudian metaphors, because I didn't catch that even with my *pronz glasses on* until I saw your compilation! I'm glad you were listening to the women's "yearnings" as well as the men's. Julia was definitely wearing a lot of make up when her blond era started in Season 5. Perhaps some in Season 4, depending on her outfit.

Most of her details are scarily accurate so I'd be surprised if this wasn't a real book. I found a book called "Marvels of Our Bodily Dwelling" - interestingly written by a female doctor: by Mrs. Mary Wood-Allen, M.D.; introduction by Sylvanus Stall, D.D. (1915). It might be a fake book based on that. It's actually classified as juvenile literature, but I guess it would be like kids getting all excited about the nekkid people in National Geographic magazine. Anyway, tokyofallenbelle would be looking for something a bit more along the lines of an instruction manual. Throwing in some other books that came up on Amazon that might be helpful: Pleasure Bound: Victorian Sex Rebels and the New Eroticism amzn.com/B00AZ97L26 The Other Victorians: A Study of Sexuality and Pornography in Mid-Nineteenth-Century England amzn.com/1412808197 The Making of Victorian Sexuality Link: amzn.com/0192853120

Funny thing is Jennings later names a dead child Sylvanus.
