I'm not even sure where to put this, but I just realized that George has his own mini-Murdoch chalkboard! OMG it's a HIPSTER IPAD!!!!!!

I feel a meme or sig with that chalkboard coming on later this evening when I have more time.

I'm not sure what to do with this - it doesn't work as a sig. But it's funny. XD Somebody should post this to Jonny Harris's twitter feed. I don't use twitter.

I think I've mentioned this before, but MM has tempted me very much to get a Twitter account...the contact with its stars and opportunity to spread the fandom is tantalizing.

I love it! No twitter here either though :/ I don't even have a cellphone goshdarnit. This would look great on one of those tacky 70s t-shirts - just the plain white one with an iron-on image. XD

I think I've mentioned this before, but MM has tempted me very much to get a Twitter account...the contact with its stars and opportunity to spread the fandom is tantalizing. I often check out Yannick Bisson's - he posts interesting things. But I can't use twitter myself because the nature of my work means that I log into other people's twitter accounts: it would be a hassle to have to relog into mine, and there's a danger of me posting personal into someone else's account. I don't feel compelled to post a stream of tweets about ME, either. I'd rather just twitter-stalk Yannick. He never liked my review of MM.

Aw...I'm sure he's a busy man. Maybe it was one of those things where he meant to "like" it but forgot. That happens to me a lot! Sounds like a hassle for to use Twitter. I think the main thing that's been holding back is what you mentioned...I don't have a lot to say about myself. My Facebook account is mostly for business and keeping up with out-of-state friends.

The whole endeavor kind of creeps me out. Have you read The Circle by Dave Eggers? That book really shows how thinly your identity gets stretched over social media channels until there's nothing left on the inside. If you ever suspected Facebook made a good plot for a horror story, this is the confirmation.

Haven't read the book, but very aware of the false sense of security offered by online social media. Tons of real life crime stems from online activity. I wonder if even Murdoch could have fathomed how social media would alter not only the nature of crime, but also the nature of crime fighting.

Well he's already baffled by why telegraphers are engaging in "online" liaisons! For all his rational and scientific methods, William can be a very old-fashioned set-in-his-ways guy. Give him his cup of tea, or give him death!

He is very practical...good thing he is complemented by George's visionary gift! In "War on Terror" George makes a reference to cell phones, but Henry points out that the cords would be too immense to make them possible. It was a great moment that called up the hints at modern technology, but paired them with practicalities of daily life during that time.

Hmm, I wonder if I remembered cellphones in my Historical Gotchas thread. *jots down for later reference* Too bad Windows stopped distributing it's free video software. You could be adding some George videos to the sadly tiny repertoire as well. Maybe CC will do one with all his exotic paranormal theories.
