I see what you did thar, CC:
Separately, I like the song choices, and I like what's happening with the clips. (Nice one with the cards!).
Out of personal preference/taste, though, I don't like smashing together different songs in one vid: I like my vids to be in a committed relationship with a song! Is this mix style a thing now? I've seen it in a few vids, such as that one abou Sexy George. Maybe it's the audio equivalent of that visual collage style of Tumblr...?

Didn't like the music or the way the clips were put together. Two thumbs down.

Didn't like the music or the way the clips were put together. Two thumbs down. I think the jumble style just doesn't work for people when they get older. Most Tumblrs give me a headache for that reason - it's just seems like a lot of chaos! But I suspect the generation that grew up multitasking with smartphones, homework, videogames, twitter and facebook, all at the same time while Mom was yelling at them to clean their room might actually have a somewhat over-stimulated perception of the world - and consciousness is actually shifting toward this collaged style. Either that, or videos with chopped songs is a "thing" now, and we're just not aware of it. Only CC can answer that question! But it seems like the people on the older end of the scale aren't in favor.

Mashups have been popular for a long time...but what I did isn't really a mashup. They're supposed to go together fairly seamlessly so that different songs sound like they are one and the same. My original intention had been to do something like that but I was too lazy to put that much effort into it. Basically this was more of an experiment for me, using a super popular artist right now and at least one super popular song to see if that actually makes a difference in the number of views or not. So far I'm going with not. And uh, if you can actually understand what she is saying, I think the clips match up fairly well.

I have seen other videos like it. (The George Sexyback is one - but I have trouble with it for the same reasons). Anyway, I think they do match up well, and I like the song choices. But the Mashup genre itself may be a thing your ear has to be tuned for - i.e., you have to be under 30 to appreciate.

For me it was more the music I didn't like, couldn't tell what the lyrics were and didn't care for the music. I have to say that I like most music, with the exception of jazz which is a cacophony of sound to me, and whiney country, so it not often I find several songs in a row that I dislike but I didn't like any of the choices in this video. Perhaps it's the artist that I don't care for ... sorry.... If I'd seen the clips w/o music I may have liked them better.

I've been on the look out for non-shippy songs since CC said she wanted to get away from that over-saturated video category. Without much luck. Though if there's room on the table for a crack video: Britney Spear's Womanizer, with William getting schooled for his wandering eye. Just thought of that today!

Careful with that sentiment - it might get your attempts to promote MM in other forums downgraded by pack-instinct Sue Thomas fans. Even the Yannick Ice Bucket Challenge vid. Geez. Now that I'm no longer trying to promote anything they can run and downgrade, I can safely say: YOU LOT ARE A BUNCH OF WACKOS. PPPPHHHHT.

I can appreciate that technically speaking she is a skilled singer on the same level as Mariah, but I don't usually go for that pop stuff too much because the lyrics are usually dumb. Speaking of, off the top of my head, here are the lyrics to the vid which I was too lazy to put in. (I'm also curious to see how well I can parrot them back). 'How long till we forget, how we felt? Dealing with emotions that never left playing with the hand that we were dealt, in this game maybe i'm the sinner and your the saint, gotta stop pretending what we ain't, why we pointin' fingers, anyway, we're both the same breakup, makeup, total waste of time, can we please make up our minds, and stop acting like we're blind? cuz if the water dries up and the sun stops shining, stars fall down and the world goes blind, boy you know i'm saving my love for you, for you first song swap: my heart feels like it's stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, i'm under pressure, cuz i can't have you the way that i want, can we go back to the way that we were? on honeymoon avenue, honeymoon avenue, honeymoon avenue, constantly crazy, other stuff i don't remember, honeymoon avenue, back to the way that we were next switch: bang bang into the room, i know you want it bang bang all over you, other stuff bang bang there goes your heart, i know you want it back back seat of my car, i'll let you have it wait a minute let me take you there, wait a minute, ahhh she might have let you hold her hand in school but imma show you how to graduate, no need to talk the talk, just show me what your momma gave, you've got a pretty big shhh, so don't say a thing, see anyone can treat you good, you need a bad girl to blow your mind so yeah that last song in particular is why i don't really listen to tons of pop music.

Hey, that's not helpful to old fogeys like me who are just trying to figure out what to call stuff. you can call it whatever you want. i grant you permission as your elder deity. LOL! Can I make the interested observation that you chose songs with very modern technology phrasings - i.e. bumper to bumper traffic, and I assume bang bang refers to guns as much as to the sound of the heartbeat...? Any thoughts on that?

But anyway that was a shipper vid. I'm talking about one that plays with the idea of William being a womanize. *looks winsome*
