In regard to Enid: Am I the only one who thinks she had crazy eyes? No, there was always something I didn't like about her but couldn't put my finger on it. You just have! If William had married her, perhaps she would have gone over the edge with some imagined jealousy and stabbed him to death!  |

Enid was nothing more than a short diversion for William to figure out that he wasn't over Julia. She was never a serious threat!  Anna Fulford on the other hand-I bet you William at least considered running off with her, after he hit it-which I am increasingly thinking he did. Or, as Snacky has suggested, they definitely got up to more than kissing.  |

Or, as Snacky has suggested, they definitely got up to more than kissing. I object to that! I'm not a rabid shipper, I just luxury cruise them. Seriously, there's not a romantic bone in my body (my husband can attest to that) but I've never been more into an onscreen love story, I don't know what it is about these two people. I totally agree that Enid was never a threat. She wasn't just a diversion for William though, she was also there to underscore Julia's continuing attraction to William hence the scenes where she's obviously jealous when William and Enid are together. I just didn't like Enid at all and could never understand the attraction, there again, I'm not William looking for a family. Anna Fulford was definitely a threat for Julia and Julia knew it hence the envious looks in SotWS. I too think there was a connection of some kind between Anna and William and I'd like to think they did sleep together. On the other hand I really do like to think of William as the 40 yr old virgin, there's something kinda cute about it. |

Sorry-I didn't mean diversion for William (I meant that Enid was one for the show to get our OTP back together) but for William, she represented what he thought he wanted, a mostly traditional wife and family. The purpose of Enid I think was to show him that it wasn't what he really wanted.  I know what you mean about William and Anna-I hope they did the deed as well, if only because it meant that he wasn't a 40 year old virgin, however, that idea is definitely kinda cute at the same time. |

I think William would find life utterly chaotic anywhere else. It took him decades to build an "orderly" life in Toronto. |

We don't really know what kind of life it was before Liza died though, he may have been perfectly happy. Actually I think he was, he had a lovely fiancee that could give him the family he wanted. What more does William want really? Well, that was until he met Julia. |
