I'll be very disappointed if this William I see is a 40 yr old virgin. I don't understand why people would be upset if William is a virgin. I know for some it's a matter of 'wasting the best years of his life' but I don't see it that way. I'm perfectly fine if he waits until they're married and hasn't been with Anna either. I love the idea of the perfect gentleman saving himself for his true love on their wedding night. How romantic is that! Not that I think William is romantic though he does try at times. Romantic or not, this William Murdoch I see is NOT a virgin. Anna aside, he has been somewhere .

Where do you see that? I see nothing that states one way or the other, just signs that we read whichever way we want. I'm not on either side, I want it both ways ... I just state what I see in the show.

I know I can't have it both ways so I choose experienced William, the ladies' man until I am proven wrong. I just can't imagine him relying on anyone guiding him through his first attempt at his age .

Not necessarily guiding him as such but at least being sensitive to the fact he's not experienced. I think Julia would realize that if he hadn't been with her he probably hasn't been with anyone else, I'm not sure she'd need to broach the subject with him. In any case, she'd find out the first time if he knew what he was doing and be able to take it from their without ever making him feel less of a man.

I'll be very disappointed if this William I see is a 40 yr old virgin. Yeah, such a waste. But I'm accumulating thought that he is. Or if he isn't, the only action was youthful indiscretions before the series.

Not that I think William is romantic though he does try at times. I think he's secretly romantic. Some of the "pedestrian" romantic things wouldn't occur to him, but I think extraordinary things would. Remember how the Jesuits didn't think he had a mind for literature, and he secretly enjoyed Shakespeare? Hey, he was saving that absinthe for a special occasion, too!

Murdochic for one is astounded anyone could think he is. But I don't think we will ever get proof (even a comment about the honeymoon) - so to each his or her own!

He may be secretly romantic but his sense of propriety gets in the way. Unfortunately the only Shakespeare he's ever quoted is the Scottish play and Hamlet, not exactly romantic. Perhaps he likes Romeo and Juliet, oh, just recalled The Murdoch Effect, he does! Yes, a very special occasion.

And brush strokes on the canvas.... As well as the beauty of the Canadian Shield. I have to say I always loved the way he was so uncomfortable knowing what the painting was and not being able to admit it. Trust Julia to know exactly what it was.

It's definitely mine. Never fails to make me crack up. I just love the way she delivers that last word.
