I try not to read anything that isn't finished already. No point in being disappointed.... Well, if the person usually updates regularly then I'll risk it...but otherwise I tend to wait and see. Though it is kinda fun to come up with endings to these things myself.

FallenBelle's totally freaked me out, though. You would have hated my older stories then. Pretty much every chapter had a cliffhanger. It was fun being sadistic. It still is.

Not much worry of being washed away...after 8 years we only have about 300 fics... There was this cool one from way back that had Murdoch in the year 2000...before The Murdoch Effect came out...unfortunately they only ever wrote a few chapters... There was another cool one that took place in the Yukon. The gang had come to find Murdoch or something like that and people were getting killed...but again, it never got finished. There was another one about Julia and Murdoch's letters to one another when she went to Vienna...but can you guess what happened with that one? Basically all the ones I got into never got finished. I don't think I like this WIP model. I don't either. Over the years, I've learned that there are writers who have a strong idea and can be trusted -CC is one of them, IMO, but a lot of times when I see a multi chapter fic, I jump to the end to see if it's finished. If it's not, I won't read it. Too frustrating to see them abandoned. You'll notice I write a lot of one shots for that reason. I already had the 2nd chapter for my most recent mostly mapped out when I posted the first chapter, and I'm persevering on the third. While William on his drunken booty call is endearing, I'm having trouble making it work, because I'm tired of writing Julia cockblocking William. But, I promise I'll do it. Because I effing hate unfinished fics.

Hmm...maybe I already did. So have George do it instead.

I try not to read anything that isn't finished already. No point in being disappointed.... You clearly have far more self-discipline than the rest of us! Switches back to fanfic to find more unfinished gems to read .

Whilst I don't like starting unfinished stories I have to admit to abandoning reading more stories before the end due to many things, mainly bad writing though. Oh, and characters that don't ring true.

Oh, and characters that don't ring true. You sound like my sister. Characters that behave out of character is her biggest literary peeve. I'm a little more tolerant if the ship has grabbed me.

Actually, it's pretty funny because it's such a ripoff of Dracula...well, technically George ripped it off. www.fanfiction.net/s/9330866/1/The-Black-Devil-s-RevengeAnd yes, the Lost Ferrets thing is actually a story I wrote. It's a continuation of that sexy? story George started in SotWS. It's really dumb so it's super funny to me. www.fanfiction.net/s/8652017/1/The-Case-of-the-Lost-Ferrets

Oh, and characters that don't ring true. I admit to doing this as well, but this fandom is pretty good overall-there's only a few I felt were horribly OOC. I'm sure Snacky will back me up on this, but when I was active in the SG-1 fandom...oy vey! There were some that were so bad they had you questioning everything.

OMG, thank goodness there was a ton of fanfic to choose from. Sometimes you had to wonder if people were watching the same show. Or whether people were from the same planet. It's still weird there was so much more fanfic in the Stargate universe, but I guess it helped to have multiple daily reruns on the SyFy channel. Maybe the US syndication will start something. (Hopefully not that OOC something...). On that note I spent all day working on my "Manifesto" when I should have been doing something else.
