Just went on Twitter and saw this tweet from Helene... Now does that mean the last scene of the ep was dramatic or just the last scene they filmed was? Tells us whether we may have another cliffhanger or not if we can make that distinction. Also the y'all is incorrect.
I'm pretty sure they mean it's a cliffhanger. Again.

Also, happy (American) Thanksgiving, y'all! No turkey for me-I'm taking advantage of the fact that it's not a holiday here in Japan and will avoid the crowds at my favorite restaurant and bar! Thankful, indeed! Actually got an invite to do Turkey Day at a neighbor's house this year. That's new!

However, it will indeed be intriguing to know if we have another cliffhanger, although we already know they don't film scenes in order as well. I'm awaiting more details most eagerly! They better be confident in the show not being cancelled if they keep doing that to us! Is it really necessary to do a cliffhanger to keep people coming back for the season premiere? Geez.

Geez. too be fair, dramatic doesn't necessarily mean cliffhanger. ie. s2's ending was dramatic but not what i'd call a cliffhanger...or at least, not a bad one.

My spidey senses are tingling to the tune of an "everybody is in danger type of thing". Like those increasingly ridiculous Smallville cliffhangers.

I bet one of these days MM does a literal cliffhanger. Last scene is William trying to hang on to someone (it can't be visa versa because that would mean the end of the series) who is hanging over the edge of the cliff - probably Julia. Then - she slips from his grasp. Cut to credits. We have to wait until the start of next season to find out whether there was a ledge right underneath her feet. depending on the status of Helene's contract

Wasn't the first one Lana getting caught up in a tornado?

This can be read both ways, I think I'll choose to read it as final scene of shooting season that happened to be dramatic as opposed to final dramatic scene. Just me.... There has been a lot of talk about a 9th season by several people recently. I suspect they already know there's going to be one but can't say anything until after CBC announces it. The only reason I can see for not renewing is the CBC going completely documentary/information based programming and I doubt they'd have many viewers for that lineup. There's no reason to cancel their most popular programme. Final numbers for 804 were 1.364M, damn good numbers for any programme in Canada let alone a Cdn. show on the CBC.

Yeah but the wedding episode is a one-time, one-and-only episode. Those numbers can't be used to justify all of MM. They would take an average of the entire season's numbers wouldn't they? So hopefully the numbers don't go down a lot...?

I suspect they lost numbers to Gotham at first as it started a couple of weeks before MM but perhaps some of those people came back especially as you can watch one and PVR the other. I saw the first couple of eps of Gotham and wasn't riveted, there was no way I was staying with it when MM was on and I don't PVR it as I record MM to watch again later.

And I think Gotham either has a short season or an interrupted season - it's already over in the US. It still sucks that MM was up against Gotham, because in a way their audiences do overlap. I hope that works out somehow overtime. I hope recording is somehow taken into account, too.
