Favourite has to be William of course, but I do love Crabtree and find the interaction between Murdoch and the Inspector very entertaining. The Inspector has a lot of faith in Murdoch, but because he doesn't understand everything he says, has to put him down to assert his authority - and he is very funny.

Crabtree, the stories of his aunts, the problem of his mother (she hasn't been seen again?), and the great episode with his niece and him playing the responsible uncle are all fabulous. But best of all is his double act with Higgins :-))

I thought it was amusing when Brackenreid said the Chief Inspector Stockton would have his guts for garters and Murdoch just looked at him and said "sir?"...

This season Crabtree has come a lot further and he makes a brilliant double act with Higgins. I also think that Higgins should become a series regular

Of course, William is the favourite but that's it, all of the characters are just amazing - I love Julia's independency and cleverness, Crabtree is so cute and I always laugh at the Inspector's words and gestures... and those who play in episodes are so original!
