Yes we do! I can picture W and J in a horse drawn sleigh. Jingle Bells? ?!! Unfortunately the episodes are written months in advance so they can't predict the weather. Normally at this time of year we wouldn't have snow. Couldn't they write a random ep, and then write a note: to be filmed when snow falls...

I'm sure they wouldn't predict snow so soon in the season so wouldn't think to write a specific ep to take place in snow.

As per Yannick's twitter, "The @cbcmurdoch season finale is gonna be a real killer...ahem. One hint; "The Artful Detective" #hangontoyourhats" So, is it just me, or does this sound like someone's gonna die? And might it be Julia, because they've already given the fans the wedding, they've written themselves into a corner with her character, and they think Wiiliam needs more angst? Or or is this the return of Sally Pendrick?

Perhaps the episode has something to do with The Inspector's painting. Is he maybe known under a different name back in Yorkshire. Did he perhaps kill someone so he left for Canada and changed his name and the stories about the regiment are all made up. Have we ever seen photos of his family.

But he DID have a military uniform that George tailored in Murdoch Air...and he was quite keen to go back in and he seemed to know what he was doing at boot camp.

The only way they would kill off Julia is if there was a really hostile contract "conversation", and the writers decided to kill off the character just to signify bridges had been burned (#TheGoodWife). Hopefully Canadians have more sense than that, and they would instead with a William-angst generating scenario like letting Julia be lost at sea while Helene goes off and makes a movie or whatever. Meanwhile we fans can only hope she will come back to where her stable living is. The more interesting scenario is what would happen if Yannick gets such an offer he can't refuse. Does it delay filming, throwing all the other actors out of work? Or can there be a "missing William arc" that can be sustained for more than a few episodes? Art theft does sound like Sally Pendrick's forte - woo hoo!!! I think the "killer" might be her. And I think she might be wearing William's hat in the last shot!

OMG, that is a colorful past for the Inspector! He does claim to be in White Chapel during the Ripper years as well! While I doubt the Inspector himself is going to turn out to be a Criminal Mastermind, I agree there's a reason that painting has been such a prominent feature of his office so far this season. I'm sure it will play a part in the story eventually!

Oh, it's definitely cra, but I've seen it happen on multiple occasions. Writers often try to be edgy by killing off a popular character. It concerns me that the writers have written themselves into such a corner with Julia however-and that I think they don't know what to do with her. However, I'm more than happy to be wrong. However, the tweet about it being "a real killer" and mm's tendency towards angsty cliffhangers makes me think it's a possibility that someone's gonna die. Or that multiple murderess Sally Pendrick's gonna make a return. Or something completely different.

Once she's kicked out of the election campaign, for whatever reason, she'll go back to solving crimes with her husband. Killing her off would just solidify the beginning of the end for the show. This isn't Game of Thrones or Walking Dead where they have an excess of characters. Unless Helene was demanding to be released from her contract, I can't see it happening, or unless CBC goes under next year (which is a possibility) and an American network takes over...

Or that multiple murderess Sally Pendrick's gonna make a return. Or something completely different. The MM writers are definitely from that school of philosophy, as marrying Julia off to Darcy shows, and the Peter Mitchell interview underscored the importance of not giving the viewers what they think they want. (Another reason not to be pushy even if you think your way is really the right and only way). But I think think the OTP of the protagonist would only be killed in the case of a major contract dispute because the show would be taking a major risk if her replacement wasn't as appealing, and she already has years of character development and audience of loyalty behind her. It took 4 years just to start to work on Emily a little. I think a far more likely scenario would be Helene needing/deciding to walk away for some reason - then the writers would have to step up to that scenario. I really hope that if that happens the writers don't play the "burn all bridges" card. I do agree that the writers aren't sure what they are doing with Julia, though - especially after the suffragette arc is over. They will have a problem on their hands. I'd like to see Julia get into serious neuroscience, please. MM might do one of those crazy cliffhangers that are common for American shows where EVERYONE's lives are in jeopardy (because everyone's contracts are being re-negotiated). The episode might end with a big fire/flood/explosion/earthquake/landslide/building collapse/horsemen of apocalypse/hellmouth opening/etc.

Yannick wouldn't be crude enough to phrase it that way. I really don't think MM will do the miscarriage plot without a big lead in of Julia pursuing how she can possibly get pregnant in the first place, too. No sign of that yet. I think this is a card in the pocket for future seasons.
