Talking of random things and WW1. Did anyone notice in Dinosaur Fever that William had on a wrist watch in the bit where he was dreaming of the future out on a dig somewhere. Wrist watches were not invented until WW1. Actually, wristwatches were in use in the 1890s by the Military, and particularly by officers in the Boar War, which ended in 1902. They were invented in various forms much earlier, but wouldn't have been in general use. However, I can see it being the type of gadget Murdoch would love.....

Perhaps it was a marriage of convenience though.

Wrist watches were not invented until WW1. Well, either it was close to that time in his dream (and really, the rate at which things happened with Julia, I wouldn't be surprised) or Murdoch/Pendrick invented it like ten years early. Or it's a simple goof. Edit: AND he's wearing a wedding ring! I guess he could get one later on, but 1896 Murdoch thought husbands were supposed to wear rings... Edit 2: But 1899 Murdoch doesn't think so as evidenced by his second future dream. Could be Yannick just forgot to take off his wristwatch and ring in the Badlands shoot. I've just watched this scene again and I think it's supposed to be well into the future, possibly around 20 years as William is greying. that would put it mid WW1. He's not only wearing what lookes like a rectangular wristwatch but also a belt and shirt with integrated collar. I wonder if the car was supposed to be contemporary, don't know what it was though.

This is a comment on the TV, eh? site.
I first thought Crabtree was covering for Edna or Simon [on Murdoch Mysteries], but the fact that he left his boots to be so easily found is not in his character as a police officer. There is definitely more than meets the eye here. Simon said that his father was involved in a criminal element so maybe someone from his past will surface and be found guilty. I want Crabtree to get together with Edna. They make a better match than he and Emily.
Did anyone else hear Simon say his father was involved in a criminal element? I don't believe I did. The only thing I remember him saying about him is that he was a blacksmith.

No, I don't remember Simon saying that either.......wouldn't surprise me, though.....I actually think that by leaving his boots where they would be found easily, after stepping in the blood is proof he was framing himself.....

Also a poorly conducted self-frame might be either a subconscious invitation for William's help or a way to invite him if for some reason he fears being overheard? The return of the Black Hand maybe?! Oh goodie! Ps. I don't remember Simon mentioning his father was a criminal either. Does that seem like someone Edna would get involved with? Bad debt is more likely. I wonder if that comment came from Evil Pete, lol!

pathologist's report dated June 6th, 1899, signed by Julia. Is this at all germane to George's case-as why would he have an old autopsy report from Julia from more than three years previous so easily accessible? Maybe it's Anna's autopsy report and George is doing all this to avoid becoming a favor-doer for the Black Hand.

George knows how to frame himself and he'd know how to get away with a crime too. This was obviously the first instance.

What kind of trouble could we make with this scenario? It's not as fun to have Anna back now that William is married. George had to bring out police info in order to save Edna and/or Simon, but chose to "get caught" for murder instead...?

How cute was Lillian bringing Emily tea & scones and at the end being there for her awwwwww Welcome Miss Emily............Oh snacky, your pirate ship is filling up. It was sweet of her to bring tea scones but I was surprised that she assumed Emily would just drop her hard earned career and follow her to England. That's who Lillian is but I not who I think Emily is. As in any new relationship, they've got a lot to learn about one another. It's going to be interesting to see what Emily's decision will be.
