I've wanted him to invent an early submarine for some time now. And we know the shipwreck episode is coming up so that would be the perfect opportunity to have Murdoch in NS by the sea. But considering Pendrick is possibly still in film and Prop Monkey said he wasn't working on a sub, I'm guessing that's not going to happen ever, and if it did, it would have to be yet another invention that got destroyed so that the government didn't use it for war purposes. Still, not nearly as annoying a plot device as Gillies constant Houdini acts. OMG! Maybe Pendrick builds a sub, and Gillies escapes in it!  Historical anachronism solved, Gillies plot device taken care of!  That would only be acceptable if the sub was torpedoed into oblivion and Julia pressed the button while Murdoch's busy explaining how the remote control works and George is trying to get everyone to see the mermaid that he's spotted while Brax is dead drunk singing a rousing patriotic song and Emily stole his hat and is playing Frisbrim with Lilian on the beach. This is what happens when I haven't written a fic for awhile.

There were early subs in play during the Civil War, so I agree this should be an ep! Perhaps one of those creepy, claustrophobic survival stories. William has to figure out who the last man alive was? |
