I liked his character...just not what they did to him. He'd say all the things we were thinking right to the characters faces. Well, Henry did that too didn't he? When they were searching for the gun? Maybe he's a serial killer too?

The song is where the vid idea came from. Julia calling him a monster was just coincidence after the fact.

I finally got a chance to see this...great vid and great song choice as well. Well done. I'm glad he's dead though, not because I didn't love his character, but like you, I got tired of him torturing Murdoch via Julia.

ITA on what was ultimately annoying about Gillies. I loved the fact that William had an ongoing Moriarty mastermind to challenge him, and that his presence brewed up a lot of angst. However he did indulge in a lot of exposition, and his tortures were a bit silly. I also hate his particular brand of "crazy". I think he'd be more evil if he's utterly, coldly sane.

I can't honestly say I ever liked Gillies however I did like the challenge he gave William. As far as being silly he was supposed to be a young man and I suspect an overindulged young man that always got what he wanted and on top of that a psychopath.
