Hi. I've been reading for awhile, but just decided to join. Being a native Torontonian, with all of my family branches in Toronto in Murdoch's period, I love the series for presenting the history of the City, as my ancestors would have been there (probably propping up the bar). I've attended a few of the events, including the set tour, 100th episode screening, the pub night and met a few of the cast members.
Looking forward to the discussions.
Cheers

Cheers Welcome! I'm looking forward to some day visiting Toronto! I'm the best argument for MM as ambassador for Canada's tourist industry. A couple of year's ago I'm not even sure I knew Toronto was a city. I was more familiar with Vancouver and Montreal, and Montreal was the only one that had a sense of "place" in my mind. Now, however, Toronto has a very firm place in my mental map, and it almost has a "homey" feel because of MM. I do hope I can visit some day!

I hope you can visit at some point......Unfortunately, one of my pet peeves is that Toronto has done a very poor job of preserving its history, so it would look like a very different place than what you are seeing on the screen. Having said that, the spirit of the place survives, fortunately without a lot of the prejudice....
Cheers

I think I recognize you from FB. You'll definitely find it different here. The discussions are much deeper and can sometimes get a little intense ... or fall completely off the rails. Either way I hope you enjoy!
