Hi all MM fans, season 8 started last night in the UK, and WOW!!!! was that a gritty, dark and dirty polished episode. I,m a big fan of brachenreid and i do hope he stays till the end. When you have a show like MM, you grow fond of the characters. Does anyone know if Thomas Craig plans to stay the course, cos i heard that he wants out of the show. but then you can,t believe everything you read on the internet. Anyone have any insider info??? What have you out there?

What have you out there? It was certainly a blockbuster start to the season and you won't be disappointed with part 2. Whenever a character is put in the situation that Brackenreid was in there's always rumour the actor wants out. Do you really want spoilers, are you sure you wouldn't rather wait??

Sorry for all the spoilers. Wow that puts a crimp in international conversation here. As for Brackenreid - where on earth did you hear that rumor?

thanks snacky and desk sgt, you two seem to be a regular repliers on here, and it is much appreciated. iwonder iff you guys have "ripper street" over where you are. It,s a british victorian period drama bout life on the victorian streets after the events of jack the ripper and how the small police force command the streets. It,s a wonderful production iff ever you get to see it. As for spoilers, i try and stay away from the season 8 forum. When did it start in Canada?

It would be either on the BBC channel or PBS here. I will look for it!

It,s a wonderful production iff ever you get to see it. As for spoilers, i try and stay away from the season 8 forum. When did it start in Canada? Actually I'm worried I ruined the forum in a way. It was started by UK peeps, and a lot of them have vanished. After seeing that the UK is nearly a season behind, I'm wondering if it really is because of spoilers. The TV distribution system is SO messed up. I saw an excellent rant on this recently by David Hewlett: youtu.be/wOV8wSh6zwQThis really sums it up: all entertainment money making has been made on scarcity of product and blocking distribution, but with the rise of the Internet and a global fandom this model just constantly frustrates fans and forces them to look for and justify their work-arounds. The entertainment industry needs to get on top of global simultaneous releases and simplifying it's International distribution deals. The idea of punishing fans who just want your product and fighting a rearguard action to preserve old models based on people in different countries not knowing their friends already saw that movie 3 years ago is ridiculous. Anyway MM is a good touchstone for this whole problem since I'm under the impression they make as much money from International distribution as they do from Canada. But let's be honest, a lot of those British fans found a way to see those episodes when they originally aired, along with their Canadian friends. They are true fans who want to see the creative team behind MM get paid as much as anyone else. The right thing to do is to run the new season at the same time on both sides of the ocean.

I wish Alibi would show episodes at the same time as Canada. Don't know why they don't. I have only been watching for about 18 months so don't know about previous seasons.
One of the good things about bring made redundant, again, last year was I was able to catch up with previous seasons in about 6 months. That is when I got hooked.
Anyway enjoying the new season on Alibi (though have see most EPs so far on YouTube)

They could do it if they wanted to. Years ago Stargate was coordinated between the US release and the British release to reduce the temptation to download.

Ripper St. sounds familiar but I don't watch much TV, pretty much down to 3 or 4 programmes now, two being MM and the news. I watch River Monsters when I can find it, the guy's crazy! The TV is on for my husband but as soon as he goes to bed it's turned off unless I'm watching MM.
