Interesting looking show about a guy who was revived from the dead in 17th century New York, now a police detective in 20th century New York. Only lasted for one season. I always find out about the interesting stuff late...

Never heard of New Amsterdam. Similar premise to Sleepy Hollow, but I guess it didn't have headless horseman. Which reminds me of Emily's great line in Murdoch in Toyland when they bring Robert Perry's body to the morgue "what do we have hear, a resident of Sleepy Hollow, Icabod Crane perhaps".

This could have been an inspiration for Sleepy Hollow. Though not as supernatural. (yet) The CGI is more primitive and/or the show was more cheaply made. While I was watching a police car with an obvious "scrolling background", I kept thinking of William and Julia on the horse!

Yes, I think Forever was very much a reboot of New Amsterdam. Forever has more of a popular feel to it, though - New Amsterdam had more "cult" elements. I'm starting to watch Forever, though.
