Since season 9 will be up to 1903, it would be nice if there was at least a passing reference to Dr Emily Stowe, the second licenced female doctor in Ontario and generally thought to be the founder of the Suffragette movement in Canada, as she died in 1903. Her daughter, Augusta Stowe-Gullen, also a doctor, carried on her work. They were instrumental in founding Women's College Hospital in Toronto. Also she was tried and acquitted for performing an abortion. I suspect the MM writers have used her career as source information throughout the series.

Dr Emily Stowe died on this day in 1903. That would seem to put her out of range for the time period covered by the season.
