Ok Murdochians. Having watched season 7 i was wondering iff James Gillies really is dead? I,m only on episode 4 of season 8 (damn UK, were behind in everything! lol) so i might be a bit premature in my asking. However, although Gillies was a scoundrel of the highest degree, i just LOVE the way Murdoch battles him in wits. They really should bring him back. After all, every dashing detective needs a dastardly nemesis. What have you out there murdochians! My dog wants feeding now so i,ve got to get off the sofa and move....... bloody hell

Ok Murdochians. Having watched season 7 i was wondering iff James Gillies really is dead? I,m only on episode 4 of season 8 I was really disappointed at the anti-climactic disposal of Gillies - I sort of want him to come back just so he can get the epic death he has coming to him. But most everyone here is tired of Gillies always escaping jaik, and I'm not really a fan of his type of crazy. I do think William needs a nemesis that is a serious ongoing match for him - his Moriarty. I've argued the supervillain should be female because William's weakness is Victorian chivalry. I think the writers might be setting up Eva Pierce for that role. If she didb'tt hang, the Harbor Mistress would also be a good one.

Bonus points for the Harbor Mistress: she might match or exceed William's IQ. Eva is cunning but not necessarily a genius. The Harbor Mistress might lead an entire criminal organization. I'm still stumping for Leslie to come back as a "mob lawyer" - the Harbor Mistress could employ him as her personal boy toy lawyer. Perhaps she should get away with some stuff - now that would make MM 10% darker!

There is always the possibility of Sally Pendrick coming back to haunt William.......she would make the best villain, in my opinion.....I doubt the Harbour Mistress would be back, mainly because the actor who played her is English and they tend not to repeat.....not out of the question, though.....
Cheers

I thought the anti-climactic end was quite appropriate for Gillies. What better way for such an over the top villain to disappear than ignominiously.

Someone needs to tke over the mob while the Hatbor Mistress is away! William could go nuts thinking its the wrong woman...

If William had a female nemesis, my bet is Sally Pendrick. She hoodwinked the entire city and got away with it. What more could you ask for?

I just hope they reduce her "cartoon character" aspect a little. She was getting a little cartoonish toward the end when she was getting away with the Tesla death ray. I would like to know how she managed to actually HOOK UP with International weapon's dealing crime rings, though! Now that I think about it, she could probably afford a 2-bit mob lawyer like Leslie, too. Also, I would buy that Sally is a genius. Plus she didn't come across as "nutty". She came across as cold and calculating. I like that in a supervillain.

excellent responses there murdochians, i like your way of thinking. I must say, i WAS dissapointed at Gillies death. I keep waiting for an episode where we find out that he,d pulled the bullet out of himself, used it to kill another man and blah blah blah, you get the idea...... But i did like Gillies as a baddy. I think you could be correct on Sally Pendrick, she certainly would make an excellent nemesis. Just watched the honeymoon episode with president Roosevelt and i LOVED the scene where Murdoch made his periscope... "its so big.... and fits in just right.....and hits the right spot......" i was piddling myself laughing. It was great to hear Murdoch making innunendo's. And Yannick and Helene looked as though they were both trying not to laugh. That,s what i love about MM, the actors all seem to really enjoy playing their parts. And yes, it really is raining again in England, bloody ell!!!!!

Was listening to some evil song by Muse in a waiting room, and it occured to me that a tribute to William's female nemisises would be a fun subject for those vid-makers who were casting around for a non-ship topic. Some songs... Cult of Personality - Living Color What I've Done - Linkin Park Crazy - Ceelo (sp?) Control - what's here name the former porn star Witchy Woman or any song about evil wonen. Actually the possibilities are endless gere. I think these wicked women are worth a few vids!

I'll post a sample song or two in the one-up vid section later. I keep thinking of good ones! Any stalking song would also do. I don't listen to music enough, so perhaps people have even better ideas.
