Many months ago-November to be precise-I was inspired to create a Timeline for Murdoch Mysteries, it was a daunting task and I threw myself into it with much gusto. It wasn't very long that I discovered inconsistencies -of which I have addressed within the Timeline-that left me banging my head against a wall. But after months of compiling, editing, writing and yes-banging my head against the wall. I am ready to release this little monster on the world. So behold, my friends, The Unofficialish Murdoch Mysteries TimelineNow in no way is this little fiend done, oh no far from it. He is still growing as each week as he gobbles up another episode, and he will not stop growing until Murdoch Mysteries no longer graces us with new episodes, only then will this little monster be fully grown. So go and visit this little beast before he gets a snarkier attitude. randomkiwibirds

This timeline brought out something weird. So William was already working at Stationhouse 4 as acting Detective before Brackenreid was hired, but Brackenreid's claim to have "hired" William is that he promoted him to full Detective...?

That's not right, Brackenreid was promoted to inspector the same year that William became acting detective at SH4. I assume, though it's never mentioned in the series, that he'd been the detective at SH4 and William replaced him. Hmm, that couldn't be right either Malcolm Lamb was detective at SH4 so William must have replaced him. Well, Brackenreid must have started his career at SH4, moved elsewhere as a detective then back to SH4 as inspector. I'd like to see how they're going to deal with the inconsistencies in the Super Geeky Guide Book.

You have the wedding that never was down as 1884, it should be 1894.

The writers could do with an expanded version posted around their room like an alphabet in a classroom. Better yet, hire you as the continuity expert!

I am so seriously blown away...wow! Well done, my fellow Murdork, well done. However, I think that All That Glitters may have taken place in September 1902, as wasn't that the date on the logs that Mac(?) used to stake out her claim? I'm not positive-someone feel free to jump in. But wow, which program did you use to make the timeline? (Evil teacher thinking of new ways for her to students to make timelines here.)

Yes, don't remember the exact date but it was definitely Sept on Mac's claim stakes.

The problem with your geeky spreadsheet and the timeline being scattered all about is there is no redundancy in case anyone's server goes down, though.

I used TimelineJS, it actually looks much more complicated then it actually is!

Yes, don't remember the exact date but it was definitely Sept on Mac's claim stakes. Ended up not changing the date as I quote from the episode "Edward Graham, 5th of August 1902. Graham staked a claim here. There should be four more of these outlining the claim in it's entirety, but they would be on stumps still in the ground." "Sir, stumps like this one sir...But that's not his name M. McCarthy-Mac September 7 1902." "Edward Graham staked this claim and then Mac put her name ahead of his." So the way I see it, Mac was going forward to make her claim in September, (announce it) as Graham failed to in August.

So the way I see it, Mac was going forward to make her claim in September, (announce it) as Graham failed to in August. Graham did announce his claim, on August 5, by putting his name and date on the 'stakes' i.e. 'staking his claim'. That was his announcement, no need to do anything else before registering the claim. However, as there was no registration at that point, as silver had only just been found, he didn't need to do anything else. Mac jumped his claim on September 7 by cutting off Graham's claim stakes and replacing the name and date with her own.
