So every time I've watched I've managed to be confused about something. They figure out that Gillies was the carriage driver taking Julia to her friends house where she's housing Penelope. Since Gillies was then with Julia at the time of the murder, who the heck was that dressed as Julia at Darcy's house then?

Julia took Dolly to Port Credit, doesn't matter how, and returned to Toronto by train. Gillies could have told Dolly to keep Julia in Port Credit until a certain time so that she would have to take a late train back. He was at Darcy's at 4 but didn't have to pick Julia up till nearly 9. After that Gillies had to hightail it to Hamilton to kill Dolly and get back in enough time to put the bloody dress in Julia's garbage. I am assuming that Dolly was instructed to make her own way back to Hamilton right after Julia left. It's a lot of quick travelling for Gillies at a time when travel was not quick. I have to admit to having my doubts about that end of it. Lea, you may want to post these kinds of questions in the episode threads so as not to give spoilers. The thread for The Murdoch Trap is in season 6.

Gillies was smart enough to figure out a way to be where he needed to be when he needed to be.

Thank you for the response, I guess I had the timeline of events closer together in my mind.

Also while Gillies was seen dressed up as Julia at a certain time, that didn't have to be the exact time of the murder, since the murder was done via the gun that was automatically triggered when Darcy opened the box with Julia's voice recording.

Yeah, I forgot/didn't realize he had been at Darcy's at 4pm. I thought he was there at the same time of the murder and then with Julia all at the same time. I knew I was just missing something.
