Victorian gentleman is asking if anyone else is having trouble adjusting to life without new episodes of Murdoch, much like an addict without their drug or alcohol. I, for one, binge watched the entire series to cope. Hello, my name is lovemondays and it's been three weeks since my last episode of Murdoch Mysteries.  Thank goodness filming has already started so I can go see some action!  My name is Lea, and it's been two hours since my last Murdoch Episode. (sigh) That's somewhat like me. I watch every weekday, CBC at 7pm then CityTV at 8 & 9pm. Then it's on again at 11pm on City. I think I could probably watch it all evening on Saturday too but I only watch later in the evening. I have timeshifting, it's wonderful. Luckily there's nothing else on that my husband wants to watch! |

I think I could probably watch it all evening on Saturday too but I only watch later in the evening. I have timeshifting, it's wonderful. Luckily there's nothing else on that my husband wants to watch! Isn't timeshifting wonderful? I watch the Atlantic CBC broadcast from either St. John's, Nfld or Halifax.....I get a strange kick out the adverts, for some reason.
I've also reading old threads......got half way through the Holy Matrimony, Murdoch thread last night......

I got myself a subscription to Acorn TV just for Murdoch since I'm in America... all 8 seasons at my fingertips whenever I want. I'd probably be doing much more productive things in my spare time if I hadn't though, lol.
edit: Reading old threads is a good idea. I read a bunch when I first signed up but that would sure be nice right now!

I got myself a subscription to Acorn TV just for Murdoch since I'm in America... all 8 seasons at my fingertips whenever I want. I'd probably be doing much more productive things in my spare time if I hadn't though, lol. edit: Reading old threads is a good idea. I read a bunch when I first signed up but that would sure be nice right now! I love Acorn-they're all there on demand, whenever I want to watch them, along with the movies now, in case anyone wants to catch up on those. I've also re-read the threads, interesting reading! |

Ok, so my withdrawals are horrible... I am officially gonna go read a crack fic. There's one with Gillies & Murdoch. I've avoided it until now, I feel like I will come out of this a changed person. Here goes nothin... edit: That was entertaining. Oh, Gillies... Oh my, you are indeed desperate. I've avoided slash fics because on previous fandoms, they tended to be pretty misogynistic, or in the case of MM, so out of character that it would drive me batsh!t crazy. |

I was so hoping it was rated M for violence and nothing else.... Then the next time I saw it, I decided that I'd "just click on it to see". Now I've gone and read it. Also I haven't seen any Gedna fics but we need them!! I loved them together when I first saw the first episode. I thought they were gonna be my main ship! I was so bummed they didn't even last through to the second episode. I'm glad they brought her back.

Which, given how little Fic there is for this fandom, isn't really a surprise. |

I quite liked them together as well. George was such a smooth operator in Power, and I was glad to see her return. Edna herself is okay, but I really love who George is around Edna-he's not emasculated like he was with Emily. Yeah...I've seen the Gillies/Murdoch fic, and just been like "nope." |

I like George with Edna, but Edna isn't really fleshed out as a character. Or rather, they changed her character (much like the writers did to Emily) but then they didn't have much screentime to devote to fleshing her out. Some things about her really annoy me - like the way she always pronounces "George Crabtree's" full name. This makes her seem like a strict school marm. At one time she was a potential sabateur for animal rights! And she snuck into her boarding house too late at night! Where is that woman? |
