And found out about a now-public-domain book called 'Roberson's Landmarks of Toronto' (Volume 1 access.bl.uk/item/pdf/lsidyv3713cd00 and Volume 2 access.bl.uk/item/pdf/lsidyv3754bfad).

Which I don't have time to download and peruse now, but I think I'll try soon. *grin*

Thank you for laying out this whole trail! Roberson's Landmarks is going right on my Kindle! Amusing to think I probably know Edwardian Toronto better than the city where I live.
