This title made me curious...what the heck is a case of the yips?
Well I found out:
yips
noun: informal
extreme nervousness causing a golfer to miss easy putts.
This makes me laugh because I've lived with golfers my whole life, even been a caddy on many occasions, but I have never heard this term before. While not a golfer personally (would rather be on my bike too!), the only sport I've heard about "the yips" is in baseball. A catcher who has trouble throwing the ball back to the pitcher or to second base is referred to as having the yips.

Julia is enjoying swinging that club far too much to allow herself to become a golf widow. Those two nerds would be hilarious working on the better handicap! Hmmm, would this modern parenting thing include trying to bring Roland along for a round? Love William's golf gear! I must say, William looks quite dapper in his golf gear. I also think it goes without saying that Julia will join him-hopefully in bloomers or some other sensible outfit. . I also think they would try to best one another on their handicap or overall score.

Evilpete is baiting us again. He posted this on FB yesterday...
Peter Mitchell: My favourite of this season's lighthearted episodes, also one of the last of its kind... But is this really telling us anything we didn't already suspect? I'm not going to get too worked up over it as Hodge said.

I'm looking forward to this episode because I hoped Murdoch would feature an episode on golf. I like how the producers always have a mystery revolving around a sport, whether cycling, rowing, curling, hockey, etc. And I'm a golf junkie. Love playing it and watching it.

I'm not going to get too worked up over it as Hodge said. I'm not getting worked up either. The lighthearted episodes can't go on forever or we would be bored and the writers are really good at throwing us curve balls that we don't see coming no matter how much we speculate. I have to say that Peter Mitchell is a master at playing this very devoted fandom. A tweet or post here and there and he's got the fans in a rabid frenzy for Monday night to get here already!! (Seven hours till the Atlantic feed, but who's counting. )

Hilariousness!!! The best kind of poking fun at golf and golfers. I laughed out loud at the last scene.

Golf ... I'd rather watch grass grow. Not one of my favourite eps but did love William discussing the case with Roland.

William invented something that didn't actually work! Sort of a nod to all the "how to improve your swing" methods duffers spend small fortunes on.
I found it funny that Brackenreid was warning William about something being addictive.
William's face saying "I know I'm doing everything right".
Loved how Julia handles William's growing obsession then bests him at it by "emptying her mind".
I love the caricature that is Roger Newsome.
My favourite though was the reference to quicksand as a sand trap!

It was pretty obvious when Brackenreid start talking about golf that he'd been addicted to it himself. It was also obvious when William commented on throwing the clubs in the water that he'd end up doing the same. I knew William wouldn't be able to 'empty his mind' in order to drive further. Once again good to see something William isn't good at! Roger Newsome is exactly what he's supposed to be ... annoying!! Don't blame George for hating him. Nice to see that he's once again in the middle of a murder with another obsession. Still hate the way William's jackets fit this season. They sit way too low around the neck as if they're too big for him and slipping off the shoulders. Okay, I'm going to say it, my favourite part of this ep was Roland. I can't get over what good babies they are ... and cute as hell!

When he kept commenting about throwing away perfectly good equipment, I knew he'd end up doing the same. Shame, really. I was hoping that they would start playing golf together...oh, well. Still, I was surprised that he was calmly throwing his clubs into the pond one by one, but then, he's not really given to rash actions. I guess he was mentally chastising himself for his folly with each club? This was a lighthearted episode, but it wasn't my favorite. I guess I'm now channeling my inner Snacky with my desire for some angst. According to PM, we'll be getting some soon. Yay?

Golf ... I'd rather watch grass grow. Not one of my favourite eps but did love William discussing the case with Roland. That was a cute moment...I always thought he needed to sound things out to Julia, but maybe they're the only two who will actually listen to him. It certainly won't be the Inspector, and it can't be George as he would invariably want to discuss one of his zany theories.

I wasn't surprised Julia was better at golf than William, she's been shown to have talent with hands on sports. I had to laugh how William wasn't too happy that she was better than him. And also at how Julia didn't like being called Mrs Murdoch, and being left as a golf widow with Roland.
Rebecca is becoming a lot more at home in the morgue. She is beginning to get into the Julia and Emily mindset.

Would have been too cute if Julia had been listening.
