The 10th of October is also Thanksgiving.......Interesting day to start the new season..... Bad day to start the new season if you ask me. Yeah, I guess because it's got the 10-10-10 thing going on...10th season, 10th month, 10th day... Is Canadian Thanksgiving not at all unlike US Thanksgiving whereby nightfall you've eaten enough to be ill, already had all the family and arguments you can stand, and just want to be alone? Might be a great time to watch MM...  |

Can I say that I just adore this photo? I feel like we should write captions or even fanfic for this pic.  The inspector stared around himself in dumbfounded shock, anxiously fiddling on his watch-chain, the gold links twisting and kinking and coiling and uncoiling as he rolled them nervously between his fingers. "Bloody Hell, Murdoch! Wouldja look at all this!? How the hell are we gonna police this!? The Chief Constable told us to be on the lookout for looters and all sorts! But this...this is...it's insanity is what it is!" "I don't disagree, sir...I suggest doubling the beats. We'll need men on the streets, and standing guard outside all major public buildings within our district..." "Agreed...Bloody hell...Thank God Margaret's not here to see this..." "Oh?" "She's visitin' her sister! Took the boys with her...How's the doctor faring up?" "Julia's gone to help at the hospital downtown. I haven't seen much of her lately..." It's too bad Snacky isn't here anymore...she'd be losing her mind over this! Forget the floofy hat! I want to know what's up with the kimono! (SECOND honeymoon in Japan~). Actually now I'm wondering if Julia's kimono in Murdoch Takes Manhattan wasn't a wink to that idea.  |

"Bloody hell, Murdoch. Never seen anything quite like it...well, I take that back, I have seen this before, but I never thought I'd see anything like this here in Canada, that's for damned sure." "Afghanistan, sir?" William asked tiredly. Between the long day turned night fighting the fire and solving another murder case, he couldn't remember the last time he'd closed his eyes. Massaging his temples in an effort to rid himself of the headache he'd had for so long, he just wanted the whole thing to just be over and done, particularly the acrid smoke that hung in the air that would undoubtedly hang in the air for awhile yet. He also wanted to reassure himself of Julia's safety, that she hadn't run off and done anything that could have put her in harm's way, but he knew full well who he had married and he also knew that if duty called, she would answer and would follow it wherever it led her; as he had just done. Sighing, he knew an attempt to distract him from worrying about his wife's whereabouts, and decided to play along, holding up his end of the conversation with his boss. "Is it that bad, sir?" he asked, gesturing towards the destruction and smoking embers all around them. He'd read about war and the destruction that accompanied it, but as he'd never been a soldier, he didn't have any experience to compare it to. Brackenreid chuckled to himself, shaking his head. "It was a whole helluva lot worse than this, Murdoch. No doubt that people's lives will have been turned upside down, but I've no doubt that this city will rebuild bigger and better than it was before. The fire and destruction remind me of Afghanistan, that's all. After that, this is but a small inconvenience, Murdoch, and we'll deal with it as we've always done." "At least it's not Afghanistan, sir," William replied with a laugh while looking around at the embers. At least there was that, he supposed, forcing himself to remain optimistic. But if he were totally honest with himself, all he wanted was see that Julia was hale and hearty with his own eyes, submerge himself in a hot bath followed by partaking of an equally hot meal, and to finally enjoy the sensation of the cool, clean, and crisp bed linens against his skin, Julia lying beside him under the covers wherein he could finally close his eyes and not smell the charred remains of his city, reposed in peaceful slumber. Shaking his head to clear such wishful thoughts, he again reminded himself that he was on duty, and there was much that needed to be done before he could even think of such things. Sensing his shift of thought, the Inspector cocked his head at their surroundings. "Shall we relive our own glory days as constables and make a beat around the neighborhood, seeing if we can be of any assistance? Perhaps a little old lady's cat is stuck in the tree and you can climb it and rescue the damned creature?" the man asked with a chuckle. "Perhaps we'll be lucky and that will be the most challenging task we'll have to perform in all this," Murdoch answered with a snort. The two men set off towards the East, surveying the damage and seeing if they could be of any help. It went unsaid, but William knew that they would undoubtedly be passing by the Inspector's own house to ensure that it was still standing and that the man's own family was still well. William hoped that he would have similar reassurance of his own soon. |

Admins, could we have a season 10 thread all on its own now? It seems weird posting our speculations under season 9...... Having said this, the production team is being a lot more guarded with information about the new season.....we know we are getting a 2 parter to open about the Fire and we are getting Pendrick , and maybe Meyers, but not much else...... Can I second this? It's less than a month before the new season and we wouldn't have anywhere to post titles or discussions. 😀😀 |
