Didn't Murdoch meet a police detective in Buffalo the last time he was there? Perhaps he wires for Murdoch to come over to give him extra help?

I wonder if Lesley Garland will be involved.

That's the one! Apparently they're professional acquaintances or something.
I could imagine this as being Callahan sending Murdoch a telegram or a letter, requesting his assistance in a case, and Murdoch and the Inspector, with Crabtree in-tow, all head off to Buffalo to help in the investigation.
Or maybe it's Leslie Garland who's gotten himself killed??? **DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUN!!**

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that this ep is the first of a 2 part season finale cliffhanger. It isn't clear if the burlesque angle occurs in Toronto and that leads William to Buffalo. I doubt Brackenreid would sanction both William and George going to Buffalo.
Sally Pendrick is an obvious choice for this episode. She has ties both to Buffalo and the skin trade. Her face is too well known in Toronto to be able to be there so she finds a way to lure William into her web, safe from prosecution of her crimes in Canada. Hah! Then it's Julia who is the archer who comes to rescue her man in the finale!!!
The other option is Leslie Garland. His experience in Toronto and subsequent banishment may have caused him to be disowned by his family. He was an entitled git so he would be looking for someone to blame (William and Julia). Who knows, he just may have enjoyed his flirtation with the darker side of humanity enough to support himself in that realm.
My money is on Sally though. She has been submerged in the criminal world for most of her adult life so has the contacts, means and brains to pull off a very elaborate scheme.

Just saw the preview, and oh my George! You're getting around this season, aren't you? Curious, does anyone know if Michelle Ricci wrote this ep or not? Hers always seem to be the "scandalous" eps, and I love them!

George being a womanizer doesn't suit his character.

Well being the nice, honourable guy sure hasn't gotten him anywhere. Some pent up frustration is entirely understandable....looks like it is making him an easy mark. (Because he IS a sweet, honourable guy.)

It's not believable he could be a womanizer is more what I mean. He's nice guy dork who isn't great looking (sorry George), and he has a poor paying job. I just don't find it believable he'd have loads of women falling all over him.

I think in relative terms, he'd be considered lower middle class, since his income was steady and he has a pension. There'd be an awful lot of men paid much less than a police constable.....

From what the characters have said over the series being a constable doesn't pay very well. It may pay more than some other careers but it certainly wouldn't give them a big house or live comfortably with numerous kids. George or Higgins have never been flush with money. The usual draws that a successful womanizer have aren't things George has. He's always been more the type of guy women want as a good husband/boyfriend and not someone they can't resist. He's no Leslie Garland.
