I agree Dr. Francis would be a good guest star! I'd like to see him obsessed with solving the mystery instead of feeling undermined by William!

That could be intriguing. Dr. Francis was trying to get his work/life balance more, well, balanced (moving to Canada to please his wife, promptly going home to her in the evenings); this seemed to be at the root of his conflict with Murdoch, who put so much of himself in his job and didn't seem to know how to put it aside at times. If Dr. Francis had one case that for some reason obsessed him...
